  3. Rizzo with a rocket to LCF yesterday. Just crushed it. love this guy. and my son got Castro to sign as he was running out at the start of the game. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/430049_3139550100631_1621277769_2547644_1208734421_n.jpg
  4. any idea where he's headed? KU like all ND transfers? I wish. Ragone announced he's transferring to KU. Hope his knees hold up. We could use him. He's a really solid TE when healthy. really hard working kid, too.
  5. that's shaky ground though. it's got to be tough to suspend a player and dock their pay if there is nothing there to go on. they were able to get ben because of the alcohol provided to minors thing. unless marshall was doing the same thing, or unless they can get him on something else, depriving him of pay for no other reason than the commissioner's hunch or for appearances sake, he'd have a very good law suit against the league. he could likely file some sort of injunction which would allow him to play and get paid until the matter is reviewed in court. I'd be shocked if the standard NFL contract language isn't broad/vague enough to allow them to suspend someone without a conviction.
  6. any idea where he's headed? KU like all ND transfers?
  7. I have a related issue. All 3B suck and I have a lot of 1B. Can we make one of my semi-terrible 1B eligible at 3B? thanks.
  8. What I'm getting from Tim is this: Soler isn't eligible to be picked up by anyone in the prospect draft or waiver wire in 2012 if he signs after our 2012 prospect draft begins. Concepcion is different because he has already signed with a team before the 2012 prospect draft. Soler would instead be eligible for the 2013 prospect draft. That's what I thought he was saying too. but he explicitly says that Soler is in the 2013 ML draft (as any other IFA) if he isn't signed before the 2012 prospect draft. That's a distinction I don't understand.
  9. So why are Soler and Concepcion treated differently this year? If Soler had been signed on March 1, he'd only be prospect draft eligible. Your ruling on that made me think IFA that were similarly "prospects" last year would not be ML draft eligible. But if Soler isn't signed until May, he's ML eligible next year? The distinction makes no sense to me. Maybe I'm the only one (though I wasn't the one that raised the issue initially).
  10. ok, that's not how I understood your decision. If he's so clearly a prospect at 19, why won't he so clearly be a prospect at 20? I'm going to renew my recommendation that all IFA's be treated the same.
  11. So Soler is in the ML draft next year?
  12. So it's two rounds and then a free for all? That sucks for teams that had 6 shitty prospects a month ago. Why not just let those that need more keep drafting?
  13. Your comment on Soler in another thread was that he was (a) not available for the ML draft and (b) if not signed by the start of the prosect draft, not available until the 2013 draft. Since Martin was a prospect when he wad signed and he wasn't signed until after the 2011 draft, he should be in the 2012 prospect draft.
  14. some of us need about 6 rounds, so if you all drop out after 2 rounds, i'll just draft the next 5 guys.
  15. Or have 2 RP spots and the rest just be P. If you want to use 5 RPs, why not?
  16. Holy [expletive]
  17. if he were to wind up in Seattle, he basically did I want to witness he and Golden Tate meeting as teammates for the first time. Peyton doesn't strike me as a band jumper.
  18. I know someone here can provide an estimate of what a wasted service year would cost us and its going to be significant and well within the range of making it stupid to start Jackson in the majors.
  19. Ah, he wasn't there a day or two ago. Never mind.
  20. What the hell, I'm taking a flier on Cespedes. Can someone draft a placeholder (some really shitty player no one would actually draft). Not sure where else I need to note this pick. On the site itself?
  21. It should. Go to the trade page and see what it lists for you. I see it now. Looks good.
  22. Does the draft room automatically make the changes in the ML draft order?
  23. I've got SP coming out my ears.
  24. I'm interested to see what sort of contraption you come up with to watch games focusing on Barney at 2B while at the same time, preventing your eyes from seeing the Thing just a few dozen feet to his left.
  25. - Swaim on Blake DeWitt That's not a terrible thing for a manager to say. What harm is there in blowing smoke about some pinch hitter?
