  1. What am I missing? 10-team, H2H, standard ESPN Auction ($260), decided to do this at the last minute. Pretty happy overall, though it's easy to mess with autodrafts in these auction leagues. Belt is probably the first one to go if he doesn't get a starting role. C Santana - 14 A Gonzalez - 32 R Weeks - 14 P Sandoval - 20 S Castro - 16 H Ramirez - 31 P Goldschmidt - 4 A McCutchen - 22 N Swisher - 2 Y Cespedes - 1 JD Martinez - 1 L Duda - 2 J Montero - 2 A Wainwright - 9 F Hernandez - 23 M Cain - 14 CJ Wilson - 12 M Garza - 12 M Scherzer - 7 E Santana - 5 G Balfour - 2 S Marshall - 1 Bench C Sale - 2 E Bonifacio - 1 B Belt - 2
  2. When do prospects become FAs? I think we need a time so it's not a matter of who sees the draft end first.
  3. But if it's a widely used tool that is available in plenty of time to complete 3 rounds of a prospect draft, why not wait? I prefer drafting a little later anyway so you have more info and lower the risk of getting stuck with a guy that gets a season ending injury in ST.
  4. I'm saying 19 players. If I have 18 guys on my bench bc I want to humiliate abuck by beating his team with just Lucas Duda in my starting lineup, I can do that, right? The note about a guy having a RP on his bench being "illegal" suggests that my hypo would be illegal. But I don't think that's true. I think you can decide to bench your RP if you want as long as you have.only 19 players.
  5. So if my team is legal but I will have 9 starts if I keep all my SPs in, I can move guys to the bench during the week to keep under 7. Likewise, if a guy got shelled and I don't want to start him, can I just have fewer guys in my starting lineup to start the week? And if I can add a FA to get to 7 starts, can I move a guy from my bench to starting to get a 7th start. I have to assume so under the "anything to get 7 starts rule" and allowing a FA add but not a bench swap seems ridiculous.
  6. Bought a hat with that logo on it. Love it.
  7. RK is saying today is the deadline to set my lineup. Am I the only one getting that message?
  8. Wait, you can't have a starter on the bench as long as you only have 19 players? If I have a SP that I don't want to score points for me, I'm leaving in on the bench. We have a "anything to get to 7" rule, so that has to be allowed.
  9. Might be a fun way to kill time in the offseason.
  10. This is the last round.
  11. It's been 6 hours since I took Quakers pick, so linesteppers are on the clock.
  12. Come on. Anything under double digits is a tad unrealistic.
  13. Has anyone left in R3 affirmatively stated here that they want to draft again?
  14. Oof. This team is turrible.
  15. Quakers gets Calvinball's 3rd in the prospect draft.
  16. That's what someone told me (bbb?), but since the rules expressly prohibit it, I wanted to confirm.
  17. You're surprised they want castillo to get every day ABs?
  18. There's a headline about Cespedes's HR. But yes, ESPN is notorious for ignoring stories they aren't broadcasting themselves, unless it's too huge to avoid. That was added later. Still pathetic.
  19. So minor league eligibility is lost immediately upon clearing the threshold? Thanks.
  20. I don't know where else to put this, so I'll just piggyback on this discussion. can I get a couple rules clarifications on prospects? First, can prospects be added by FA claim, if they haven't made the majors? It seems based on the discussion in the prospect draft that this was allowed last year and is going to be allowed again this year. But the rules prohibit it: Prospects may only be selected during the prospect draft to be held annually each August. Players cannot be selected through waivers until they are on a major league roster (including expanded 40 man rosters in September). Second, can a guy remain in my "minors" after being called up? If so, for how long? D Brown, for example, is in my minors and is still eligible to be there. However, he'll likely get called up at some point this year, but I may not want to add him to my ML team right away (or ever, if he sucks). Can I keep him in the minors? If he hits 200 ABs this year, can I keep him in the minors throughout this season? On a related note, if a guy is eligible for the minors but makes a ML team out of camp, can I keep him in the minors? Eovaldi is competing for a ML spot, but I want to keep him in the minors. If he should happen to start the year with the Dodgers, do I have to add him to my ML roster? Sorry for all the questions, but the information I have isn't clear or is conflicting.
  21. 2 games have been played, but if I wouldn't know that based on the home page of the most popular sports website in the world. the default scores are nba, the picture/headline is the knicks game, and there isn't a single story in the list of headlines to the right. I have to click on the mlb scores tab to see that oakland won and click the box score to see that Cespedes hit a HR. Maybe espn is prohibited from covering the game, but maybe they're just mad that their standard SNB opening game isn't true opening day this year, so they're going to ignore what happens in Japan.
  22. I could have picked 8 hours ago, but didn't see the 1 post saying Chuck was presumed passed and it was my turn because of all the complaining about how long it was taking and what do do about the Japan game(s). Would have thought a thread called "2012 Prospect Selections" would be about the selections in the prospect draft. The current state of the draft was posted tuesday night at the top of page 7. there aren't 8 pages you have to wade through to find out whose turn it is. And you knew you were 2nd up, so you probably would be checking in periodically anyway. if you could have drafted and now have presumably seen that chuck was presumed passed, why haven't you drafted now?
  23. Yup
  24. But having better SPs available effects the decision on which guys to keep and which to drop. I didn't realize there were so many SPs that should have been FAs, so I prioritized SP figuring the pool was shallow. Turns out it's not as shallow as I thought. I assume that it's not cool for me to add 10 SPs over the ASG weekend and then decide which ones to drop just before games begin again. Obviously that's an extreme example, but it's similar. It's sort of ridiculous that teams would hold that many extra guys on the bench for days after the draft when there were multiple posts about the deadline for legal rosters.
