Good point. In the last four pages of the Castro thread, walks were mentioned once. Lots of discussion going on. Tons of concern being expressed. Oh wait. I bet that's the wrong place to look too. Stop trolling.
Barney didn't have a 2nd season in AA. That .339 is his combined OBP in 2009. And again you're using a hilariously small sample to attempt to show a "trend." Barney's improvement to .400 was over 15 PAs. obp normalizes in 30ab which is twice 15pas and 30 is the numnber you need for a good smaple in statistics so 30pas will be fine here the .420ob% was there4 at least half normal so why isn't barney leading off or at least champagnea I bet that post was surprisingly difficult to actually write. Which took longer: this or all the rockets on the Theo/Ricketts thread?
DeJesus OBP in 2004: .360 DeJesus OBP in 2012: .360 And the average AL OBP in 2004 was 20 points higher than it was in the NL this year. But yeah, consistently gone down. by the way soccer, that would mean that an OB% of 360 in 2004 would be the equivilent of .340 this year. Thanks for the help it shows even more for my point that his 40 game split of .360 will likely go down this year. ohhhhhhh man do i love this post That's fantastic stuff
No one in this thread has crazy love for dejesus. And you've ignored several direct questions about the need to bat barney first. Are you going to respond?
There's really nothing left for him to work on at Iowa. I think he's shown that. And what if he comes up for a few weeks and excels? Can you really tell him with a straight face he needs to go down and work on a few things? The Cubs have already waited this long to bring him up. It makes absolutely no sense to bring him up until it's assured we get the extra year. And once he's up, he should be up for good. I doubt he can't handle being told be needs to work on some things for a few weeks at Iowa. He may be disappointed, but you manage those expectations from the start.
It absolutely would not be stupid. Freaking out about it would be though. Who's freaking out? The Cubs have treated number retirement as a team hall of fame. I love Kerry, but he doesn't belong in that group. Time for a poll Poll: do you want to retire Wood's number or do you want to be permabanned?
Eff you Paul Sullivan. Why? I hate Sullivan but Wood was a complete prick in his response to that question. This is the kwood love thread. He's the most beloved cub of this generation. We will not be calling him a prick in this thread.
the kid in little big league would have deftly outmaneuvered dale here, this was like the exact scenario they tested on him before he got the job I do hope he got a few lashes from Jed for failing this test, which effectively took the bat out of the hands of each of the 2 best hitters and still set up a DP scenario.
Probably not, especially since "this board" is comprised of individuals who have different opinions. In this thread, for example, quite a few people stick up for Dale. This response is so perfect it bears repeating.
