  1. With this list, I was thinking you were trying to be tricky and it was going to be a pitcher. Color me surprised.
  2. I really like the idea of Barrett Jones in the 2nd round. He's got that nasty attitude you like in a lineman and is skilled enough to play multiple positions, eventually (if not immediately) becoming the starting center. Bushrod-Jones-Garza-Carimi-Webb or Bushrod-Louis-Jones-Carimi-Webb is a lot better than what they ran out there last year.
  3. I'm still not sure why he even has a driver in his bag sometime. He hit his 3/5 woods as far as most tour players hit their driver and he's way more consistent in keeping it in the fairway compared to the driver. Although there are times when he get his driver going, but it's rare. But yeah, like you said, nobody is touching him when he's putting like that. I mean... 100 putts in 72 holes? That's just insane. That was the most amazing part of his run of majors. If he had a putt 10 feet or shorter, there was very little doubt it was going in. I really think that's been the biggest difference the last 4-5 years. Those tricky 8-10 footers just haven't been going down like they were back then.
  4. MOAR TERRIBLE OFFICIATING! Should have been a goal tend on Zeller on that block. I just don't think most of them have any idea what's going on on the court most of the time.
  5. That's exactly what I was thinking of when I typed that. Who knows what kind of stuff he's gotten access to with his overseas connections/travels.
  6. And now the announcer, an IU guy, has noted on the last 2 trips down the floor how an Illinois player got thrown to the floor on a rebound and the shooter got fouled on consecutive plays without any calls. Maybe elbowing one of the refs would be a better way to get the point across that they're awful.
  7. You think maybe next year he will now have a significant drop off? I'm just saying it's amusing no one ever discusses PEDs in basketball. Well, they're obviously testing for stuff with both Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis both getting suspended in the last 5 years. I'm sure Kobe would be taking some cutting edge stuff that can't be tested for yet though.
  8. I'm so tired of watching this crap. Groce should just put in 5 guys that you don't care if they foul out and tell them to just run people over and start throwing elbows. The pushing and grabbing OSU has gotten away with all season is such [expletive] and I'm going to laugh at them when they get into foul trouble in the first 5 minutes of every tournament game they play.
  9. No way Illinois wins today, especially if Craft gets to run into a stationary Egwu, throw the ball at the rim and go to the free throw line. Officials have already been wildly inconsistent both ways.
  10. Jeff Withey just got away with a stiff arm to catch a post entry pass that I'm pretty sure Walter Payton would have been proud of. College officiating is sooooooooo awful.
  11. It never will. He's posturing so that it can look like the city will "give" him something; my guess is it will be centered around an agreement to fix up the Sheridan L stop, something the city already needs to do and probably would have done in the relatively near future anyway. Exactly, he has to come out of this looking like all his pissing and moaning gets something for the neighborhood even though at the end of the day, it's about the cash cow that is the Cubs staying exactly where they are and making more money than they are now. If he knows what's good for him, and as long as he's been around, he probably does, he'll shut his mouth and take whatever the city gives him and then pat himself on the back for it (or have Rahm do it for him).
  12. Pretty awesome thing happened today for senior day at SLU. One of their players, Femi John, played as a freshman and sophomore and then had a career ending knee injury. He's apparently still been going to practices and classes since the injury, but hasn't been on the official roster. In spite of not actually being on the team, SLU still recognized him today after the game for Senior Day. Pretty classy move if you ask me.
  13. Pretty sure a pea is a seed -- and the pod the fruit. A beet is a root vegetable. Avocado is definitely a fruit. Peas are legumes.
  14. They're also in the berry family.
  15. And, so we come to the tomato... It's a fruit. Period. No discussion needed. A berry, specifically, in case you were curious.
  16. Yep. Refs totally missed it. Glad I'm not the only one who saw it. Game changer. Dammit. I started to question my knowledge of the rules. That seemed obvious Not to mention the two illegal screens that just didn't get called for the guy to get another wide open look he missed. God I hate college hoops officials. Illinois doesn't deserve to win as bad as they've been, but this has been terrible the last 5 minutes.
  17. Yep. Refs totally missed it. Glad I'm not the only one who saw it. Game changer. Dammit.
  18. Why is every other dude on the Brazil team Asian?
  19. There's a little fancy footwork I didn't know Henry was capable of!
  20. It really is strange having gone from a "What the hell are they thinking?" type of reaction to a "What do they know that we don't that made them think this is a good idea?" reaction with the new FO. As much as I'd love to be a fly on the wall in any FO, this one would be particularly interesting to me because you know there's so much analysis and thought that goes into every move.
  21. Wow, what the hell is wrong with Butler?
  22. Color me convinced:
  23. I know it looks like he stumbled out of goal at the end of the period last night, but I saw somewhere else suggest that it was actually his arm. Watching it again, it could just be that he was dangling a hurt arm rather than stumbling. The loss of balance as he was leaving the ice and headed back to the locker room looked a lot more like dizzy/foggy/concussion than anything else to me. FSN Midwest showed that on their broadcast down here. Just looked weird.
  24. Not entirely accurate. They didn't keep track of blocks until like 1973, so I'm sure Russell and Chamberlain did it a few times each. Still pretty amazing though.
