  1. His latest on the Manilow vs. Hall and Oates question is either amazingly douchey or hilariously brilliant and I can't decide which.
  2. I just heard this too. Sounds like a first offense can't be punished with a fine greater than 25% of the player's weekly salary, so being paid the rookie minimum ($405K) he can't be fined more than $5,955 for this. Nice. Why should a player have to appeal just to get the league to follow its own rules, then? Because they're passing out fines based on some arbitrary set of guidelines they have in place that were made without taking player salaries into account. That's probably precisely why the union had that provision put into the CBA.

  4. Pedro's back with a brand new invention.
  5. While I agree you shouldn't write "resign" when meaning "re-sign", I believe that's a dictionary-level acceptable spelling Well, yeah, it's in the dictionary, but those two words mean completely different things. As do many other words.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homograph Many other words are homographs, but resign and re-sign are certainly not because they aren't written the same way. So, no, it's not acceptable (by any definition) because they're both written and pronounced differently.

  7. That draft day thread could end up being pretty hilarious. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/04/26/arkush-phil-emery-just-blew-that-pick/ I was up in Chicago the first week of June and caught a show that Hub was on and he was blaming the lockout on PFW going under. This right here is probably a much more likely reason, on top of the fact that he comes off as a complete douche and people probably don't like him or want to help him.
  8. Defensive positioning? He seems to hit a lot of balls right at guys positioned in not quite normal spots in the OF.
  9. What's the list of RB available at your spot with those keepers? That 2nd list looks good to me, but with that many points being put up by QBs, it's tough to leave yourself that few options when you have to start 2. Is it PPR? Do all QB TDs count for 6?
  10. Paul Sullivan has gone thorugh a few boxes of tissue over this news. Probably crying also =D>
  11. But wait, there's more! http://news.yahoo.com/lawsuit-details-brauns-efforts-fight-drug-test-173014311.html
  12. I'm going to choose to believe that this is the reason for the trade and they're planning on a Sweeney/Lake CF platoon to go with Schierholtz/whoever in RF to have an over all very productive OF.
  13. So the entire difference in their numbers is pretty much the 3 HBP for Puig.
  14. Because it's expensive and destroys your entire Sunday.
  15. Man, those cherry picked stats are nice, but the guy's OPSed .800 once in his MiL career so far and is striking out 4 times for every walk. Throw in the errors and I'm not terribly optimistic. I hate agreeing with Kyle.
  16. 3-3, 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI tonight. On fire. Good lord, ARod's stuff works quick!
  17. Because until he learns to be properly patient and selective for a prolonged period, there's a risk of him turning into Castro this season just with more power.
  18. I'll deal with it if it makes the Patriots bad and Belichick lose. I mean, there's no way Tebow gets near a start, but they'd still be a lot worse.
  19. There was an ESPN story a couple years ago about how bad of shape he was in and that he was drinking himself to death, but I don't remember anything about him actually dying.
  20. That's probably a pretty good theory. A little bit of a dead arm that a skipped start might do wonders for.
  21. Fantastic. Navarro sees 6 pitches and hits a HR, the other 3 guys see a total of 7 and make outs. At least Starlin hit it hard I guess.
  22. Right. If he puts up 300 or so dominant at bats at Tennessee, I don't think the FO will keep him down there. Yeah, wouldn't surprise me that if this happened and he continued to play well at Iowa he saw a September call up but started the next season (2015) at Iowa for service time reasons.
  23. Kinda fluff, but rings true. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/jay-cutler-can-finally-be-great-after-bears--run-of-inconsistent-offensive-schemes-190523797.html
  24. Probably, since he's getting kind of Olt to be a prospect.
