    For some reason I was surprised he hits lefty. Also, he looks like he belongs in A ball after that AB.

    Jimenez sounds to me like the only guy who is toolsy enough to get that kind of hype. The other guys all have top 20-30 potential, but I don't think any of them really have the Javy Baez it factor.

    I would not mind checking in on the price. Also it looks like the Phillies are trying to trade Jimmy Rollins before the season starts. The Tigers make sense as a trade partner there. I could also see the Yankees, because of course. Would Alcantara be a good place to start with PIT?

    I think Michigan is the exact kind of team Louisville will struggle with because they shoot it so well. All that defensive pressure will lead to open looks from 3 and Michigan will knock a lot of those down.

    Most of that was built in the 3 week hot stretch when he first came up and his peripherals were awful. So yeah, wanting to see somebody else get a shot until he shows some improved plate discipline isn't unreasonable.

    They should have tried to get the games at Huff (is that still where the women play?). That would have been good to have it on campus and even with small crowds it could have gotten loud.

    I watched a bit of it. My guess is Mooseheart is some sort of religious school that can recruit players. And that is not fair and the IHSA needs to address this at some point. edit: Just looked it up. Mooseheart looks to be a small town in the south suburbs. I stand corrected. Still not sure recruiting is not going on though. The three big dudes are kids who came over from somewhere in Africa and happened to end up there. I'm not sure if it was completely on the up and up, but a similar thing happened to me when I was in high school with the entire Yugoslavian U-18 national team ending up in northern Illinois at various schools.

    Well, first, they were a team that was pegged to be one of the top 2 or 3 from the beginning of the year and haven't been healthy enough to make that a reality all year. I think they're getting a pass for the first few games those guys were back because they hadn't played together much. You throw in how good they looked against everybody this week in the BTT, especially the last 2 games against Wisky and Michigan, I think it's a reasonable position to take, especially when you add in the coaching cache that Izzo brings.

    People asking this clearly haven't been watching UI all year. I think they shot 25% inside 5 feet this year.

    Nobody said they shouldn't be fouls, just not NBS style continuation shooting fouls. I continue to be impressed by how Groce has these guys playing their best at the end of the season. Maybe they can work on not [expletive] the bed for 2 months every year now That had more to do with the transition from the older guys to younger guys this year. Nunn and Hill have completely changed the way they're able to play offense because they can actually, you know, shoot the ball.

    As crappy as this team is, it's nice to at least not have a horrific bench guy somewhere that we have to watch. Granted, we still have to watch Barney take AB's, but hopefully that long nightmare will soon be over. If Olt is at 3rd, are we really going to see Barney play much? Bonifacio and Valbuena would be preferable to me, unless you're suggesting he gets PT to showcase him for trade.

    He got screwed by Lake missing a fly ball he lost in the sun that would have been the 3rd out in the big inning. Rizzo just missed a HR by a foot or two according to Len.

    I assume if you try to cut Steve Smith he will just shoot you. I think you're confusing him with Rae Carruth. He might punch you in the face though.
