  1. This has been a horrendously officiated game. Letting guys beat the crap out of each other all game and then they start calling ticky tack crap the last 3 minutes. Just not fair to the players.
  2. Nothing like a road game at 10 am when you're the higher seed. Why did they start this so early on a Sunday morning? Seems pretty ridiculous, even with the other tourney games today.
  3. Fixed. It's almost like none of them ever actually played the game and don't have any idea how the game works.
  4. He's everything Kyle's doom boner wishes it could be. What a turd. And not just because it Cubs prospects, but it's so completely different than what we heard on Tseng just a couple days ago.
  5. The games so far today haven't been good, but there have been a bunch of great games with fantastic finishes thus far, so if you're complaining about the tourney over all, I don't know what else you want.
  6. I agree that all of that would be an improvement, but I just don't see how that's potentially putting them at 90 wins. 90 wins sounds like Baez and Bryant showing up and kicking ass, the Cubs trading for at least one fantastic starting pitcher and re-singing Shark and Castro and Rizzo not just bouncing back but improving...at least. That's a lot that has to go really right. It's not that I don't think they won't get to that point along those lines, but I don't think 2015 is the year it's likely to happen. I think there's going to be growing pains/busts. I think you're forgetting how completely and utterly awful the pen was until Gregg showed up last year. Just not giving away half the games they did by having nobody who could get guys out consistently after the 6th inning will be a big help. If the rotation is halfway decent, you get a bit of a bounce back from Castro and Rizzo, and you're not selling off parts at the deadline, that 65 wins from last year is probably closer to 75-80 this year and then you add in Bryant and Baez to replace Barney and an OF. Granted, you don't have Soriano propping up the offense this year, but you have the potential to make up for some of that with Olt.
  7. Did they ever give a diagnosis on Javy's heel?
  8. Add another one to my list with VCU. That's the first one I've had go my way.
  9. I can't believe how many games I've missed where my pick was in clear control of the game and then just gave it away in the last minute.
  10. So apparently the VCU strategy is to just foul so much that the refs quit calling all of them and you win because you get away with it. Interesting if you can get the refs on board.
  11. Um, Kansas is having some issues it would appear.
  12. His tear ducts are probably jacked up like Olt's were and other people in this thread have mentioned. I think he was going for something else there. Ah, yes, got it on a second read....
  13. His tear ducts are probably jacked up like Olt's were and other people in this thread have mentioned.
  14. You should be plenty amped about seeing baseball in person in March where it's 80 degrees and sunny all the time.
  15. That was a hell of a pass.
  16. I think they may have passed the point of toying and are just about to take a dump on the Dookies. Which I'd be fine with since I don't have them getting past the Sweet 16.
  17. Yes and no. If you want elite talent, your odds of getting it in the first few picks are quite a bit higher than getting it anywhere else. But with a great organization like the Cardinals, you can get a pretty steady stream of note-quite-elite but really useful talent. And you can then trade that really useful talent for a guy like Matt Holliday when they're on the block, making it unnecessary to develop your own superstars. It's certainly much easier to do that when you're filling a hole here or there instead of trying to put together an entire lineup from the suck that has been on the ML roster the last couple of years.
  18. Well, my brackets are now screwed because NC State and OU can't perform the simplest act in the game of basketball. Idiots.
  19. Well, they were kind of screwed in that situation because they had no timeouts left. You steal the ball instead of fouling there and you're going to be trying to score without him on the floor. Not the best way to handle it, I agree, but I can see the strategy.
  20. Oklahoma is getting hosed on both ends by the refs. Late fouls being called, missed a couple obvious travels on NDSU, and letting them really bang on the defensive end.
  21. Man, I almost made Harvard my 5-12 upset special but I just couldn't quite make myself pull the trigger on it. Oh well, I got the other 3 right so far.
  22. Me? I'm agreeing with SSR. Though that may be poorly conveyed in that post.
  23. Honestly, I cannot fathom how anyone could come to these conclusions. You must lead a difficult life. Well the first item is essentially a fact so it can't be THAT unfathomable And as always I'll never understand why having a viewpoint on the cubs that is negative speaks to anything about a persons life. It's called "goony money" for a reason #2 is the only one of those that's even questionably believable, and he may well have believed that based on his own fandom. The rules also changed pretty significantly w/r/t the draft and kept Theo et al from working their particular brand of magic as they had previously.
  24. I think the fear of not getting the team if the structure of the purchase was to be more favorable was a bigger factor for them than having more agreeable terms. I'd bet that there would have been more potential buyers if the debt structure had been relaxed a bit.
  25. You shut your dirty mouth. Olt is gonna hit .275 with 30 HR, Castro will be his old .300/.350 self, Rizzo will hit 35 HR and Javy is going to come up in May and OPS .900 the rest of the way.
