  1. Regardless of how good or bad either is, it's nice to see a bunch of guys who can come in and rush it up there in the mid 90s and throw breaking balls for strikes.
  2. Can we not do this with every player?
  3. Deshaies is great. "he's on pace for 648 hits this year. That'd be a record."
  4. You know, there's no K in Spanish either. Weird.
  5. Yeah, 94 on the black is just filthy with that little tailing action he's got.
  6. They explained why that was reviewable though Yeah wasn't even close to the neighborhood play, our guy wasn't even close to halfway there. It wasn't the neighborhood play because the guy was pulled off the bag by the throw, not because the runner wasn't close to 2nd base.
  7. Clearly you've never heard Mike Shannon call a game. The most irritating thing about him is the utter disrespect of calling Greg Maddux Maddox. He's a turd.
  8. Yeah they totally should've seen this coming months ago wtf!? No, it's just dumb to schedule an off day the 2nd day of the season instead of playing the 3 games and then scheduling the day off. It gives you more options to get all 3 games in.
  9. They usually build an off day in to the opening series of the year to accommodate for any potential bad weather/canceled game on opening day. It would make a tone more sense to schedule the off day for Thursday so you can take care of any of the 3 games that might get canceled, but MLB is all knowing so whatever.
  10. Fractured right femur. It's very concerning that the bone could break so easily. holy [expletive], that's bone cancer, right I didn't know this before hearing it this morning, but Baylor has been beaten some form of cancer that affects the bones in the past. Here's a story on it, multiple myeloma. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130621&content_id=51334016&c_id=ari
  11. Of course the Cardinals win 1-0 on a HR by Molina on a day we lose 1-0 in 10.
  12. 12. Mostly because there will never be anybody on base and when there is they'll hit like .100.
  13. Ha! He does. Bruno looks a lot like DeJesus to me.
  14. So a shoulder to a guy's head is clean? I'm not a hockey nut, but that just seems counter intuitive to me based on all the emphasis on concussions. Can you explain?
  15. I'm gonna go a different direction on Kentucky's play of late, probably because I absolutely hate Calipari. They've no doubt played at an extremely high level the last 2 weeks, but why couldn't he get them to play this hard all season? I mean, I can understand having some inconsistency with that many freshman, but I don't think they were really interested in putting forth a whole lot of effort until recently and I think Calipari's frustration throughout the season bears that out. That team he had 2 years ago with unibrow got it, but that was probably because they had some upper class guys setting the tone on what was expected day in and day out. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done with this kind of effort all year.
  16. It's much less about the end result for me that it is how they got there. In both cases, the officials completely botched the play and potentially affected the outcome of the game by interrupting the flow of play. Other than rooting for my bracket, I had no interest in either outcome, I just want to see refs stop inserting themselves into outcomes when they should keep the whistle in their pocket. As physical as the play has been most of this tournament, they haven't seemed to have a problem doing that except in the last few minutes of games.
  17. WTF are they looking at now? Or are they debating how shitty the foul call was and just deciding to give it to AZ?
  18. I think that's got to be a no call there, not because he didn't push off, but because the defensive player initiated the contact to begin with.
  19. This has been an ugly game to watch. I'm pretty sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that the refs are allowing things on the court that would be considered simple assault by a lot of cops.
  20. So you're saying you've gotten into Kent Mercker's pants?
  21. True story: I found out my mom is totally a "DEY TOOK ER JERRRRRRRBS"-type when it comes to non-Americans in American pro sports because of Andres [expletive]' Nocioni. Of ALL of the people to inspire such a terrible, terrible rant, HE'S the one that does it??!? I had to read that like 6 times before I figured out WTF you were trying to say.
  22. This was very similar to my thought process and I also ended up picking ARam.
  23. And where's Theriot????????
  24. I just got an email from the Cubs about opening day tickets so I figured I'd just look and see what was available. Holy [expletive] the fees! 20% of the final price of the ticket. I think I'm most amused by the fact that there's a tax on the City of Chicago Fee.
