  1. I think he's been unquestionably their best player.
  2. HOLY [expletive]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. You're not saying that because he didn't finish I hope.
  4. Yeah, I hope that doesn't signal how things go the rest of the way.
  5. He hasn't hit one close to as good as the one to Brooks was.
  6. I think they stopped because of Jones.
  7. Yeah, we're getting too many good looks to not bury one (or more hopefully).
  8. So apparently Ronaldo gets away with forearm shivers and if we breathe on him it's a foul? Got it.
  9. Gotta have a better effort than that from Clint. He had more time.
  10. Are we always this bad at possessing the ball?
  11. 1. Bring up Bryant and Alcantara 2. Win games
  12. Len just asked Orie what the first thing that comes to mind when he walks into Wrigley. He should have said [expletive] up Kerry's no hitter.
  13. Outside of McCutchan last week, it seems like our pitchers do a really good job of holding down the opponents stars but wee just get murdered by scrubs like Snider and Mercer.
  14. Was coming to post exactly the same thing.
  15. I don't think I've ever watched a match with as many violent mid air collisions going for headers as there have been in this one.
  16. I showed my girlfriend the pitcher's hat and she said "Looks like Mario".
  17. That Schweinstein character looks like he's straight out of the Third Reich.
  18. Well, they're in the process of screwing us, so I'm not enjoying it all that much. I'd much prefer to play a German team with nothing at stake. If this holds, there's a ton of pressure on us to get the win against Portugal.
  19. Have we heard anything on Fulikawa recently? Last I remember he had come back after not pitching for a week or so and threw a shutout inning but I don't recall seeing anything since then.
  20. Mmmmmm, Rizzoey goodness. And Castro even betterness!
  21. I have read some of the posts that other members have posted, but I do have a little trouble understanding how a player with a negative WAR (Ruggiano this year) has better numbers than someone (Schierholtz) who had a positive WAR last year. Am I wrong in assuming a positive WAR is better statistically than a negative WAR? Well, let's go super simple then. One guy made an out 69.9% of the time and the other made an out 64.6% of the time. Which one was more successful?
  22. That combined with the fact that there's a very clear line at each of the levels he's been at where he figured it out and the numbers were much different from that point forward. When he gets to the bigs, I'm pretty much expecting 2 months of suck before he starts putting up decent numbers.
  23. Is it a possibility that Paniagua sticks as a starter or has that ship sailed?
  24. Yeah, but that was in part because his K rate was being inflated by facing 8 batters per inning or whatever. Wait, how does your K rate get inflated by facing more batters? K is generally reported as K/9 rather than K%. You can have vastly different K% and end up with the same K/9 Well that makes sense, why didn't you say K/9 in the first place?
  25. Yeah, but that was in part because his K rate was being inflated by facing 8 batters per inning or whatever. Wait, how does your K rate get inflated by facing more batters?
