    Outside of McCutchan last week, it seems like our pitchers do a really good job of holding down the opponents stars but wee just get murdered by scrubs like Snider and Mercer.

    Well, they're in the process of screwing us, so I'm not enjoying it all that much. I'd much prefer to play a German team with nothing at stake. If this holds, there's a ton of pressure on us to get the win against Portugal.

    Have we heard anything on Fulikawa recently? Last I remember he had come back after not pitching for a week or so and threw a shutout inning but I don't recall seeing anything since then.

    I have read some of the posts that other members have posted, but I do have a little trouble understanding how a player with a negative WAR (Ruggiano this year) has better numbers than someone (Schierholtz) who had a positive WAR last year. Am I wrong in assuming a positive WAR is better statistically than a negative WAR? Well, let's go super simple then. One guy made an out 69.9% of the time and the other made an out 64.6% of the time. Which one was more successful?

    That combined with the fact that there's a very clear line at each of the levels he's been at where he figured it out and the numbers were much different from that point forward. When he gets to the bigs, I'm pretty much expecting 2 months of suck before he starts putting up decent numbers.

    Yeah, but that was in part because his K rate was being inflated by facing 8 batters per inning or whatever. Wait, how does your K rate get inflated by facing more batters? K is generally reported as K/9 rather than K%. You can have vastly different K% and end up with the same K/9 Well that makes sense, why didn't you say K/9 in the first place?
