    I had not really seen a whole lot of Holden before today, but I thought he was pretty good today. He played a great ball in that Davies missed, and he tracked back well to help out in the midfield.

    It looks like Hull is going to get Negrado from Real. This is a guys I wanted Liverpool to get to give them some more help up front. This might also take away some of Jozy's playing time.

    I dont think Mascherano is going anywhere. I really like Aquilani and if he can stay healthy I think he can be very good. Alonso was really good last year, but they got a really good price for him and hopefully they can use that money on Aquilani and someone else. There has been talk of Silva and Villa. I dont think either of those will happen, but they have been linked to Defour of Standard Liege, and I think he is going to be a very good player so I would not be upset with him.

    No way Jordan would trade Gerald Wallace for an OF, they need a SG too badly.

    I like this trade alot, there is a decent chance that Wallace is going to have to move off of 3b, meaning the Cards would have no spot for him. Mortensen looks to be an ok arm but nothing that special. Also they have 12.5 coming off the books from Glaus, 3.5 coming off from Kennedy, and 4.5 coming off from Greene. So it is certainly possible that they will have money to give him an extension.

    Can we have sticky at the top of transactions that says that Phillips was not the Mets GM at the time of the Kazmir trade. That way it does not get brought up in every thread about the mets.

    Are there any other Nationals to even choose from? Well if Zimmerman was not voted in by the players, you could have taken Dunn over Pence, then Sandoval over Zimmerman and still had the same number of outfielders and 3b.

    I am pretty sure that Zimmerman was voted in by the players, so the manager had no choice on him.

    Lee's year really hasn't been that special. His awful April is still weighing down his season #s. That and they already have 4 first baseman on the roster.

    I have been looking to get those dvd's for a while now. As far as books I am about 400 pages into The Ball is Round: A Global History of Soccer, and am loving it so far.

    I dont know who does the live commentary on ESPN's gamecast. But they usually say some pretty funny things. Here is one from the game yesterday. "Fabregas is replaced by Cazorla. Until the point I hadn't realised that he was sporting a yellow streak down the middle of his head like a skunk. What a moron, and I apologise for depriving you of that information until now."

    He probably does (it's a great job) but I've heard from reliable people that he would like to move back to LA. His family still lives here, he and his wife are from here, etc. he's the brian giles of college basketball coaches. He beats his wife? Only when she deserves it, like going to the bar pregnant.

    Egypt's goalie has been unbelievable in the 2nd half. He has made some really good point blank stops in the last ten minutes.

    It cant be since 2003, cause Johan has more then Sabathia since then as well. I think the stat may be wrong, cause I cant imagine a time frame where either of them have more wins then Johan over a long period of time.

    Reports are that Milan has accepted a 65 million dollar offer from Real Madrid for Kaka.

    To me it looked like the ump initiated the contact, but after he did Zambrano pushed him away with his arm. For that and not leaving the field right away and throwing the ball and glove I think Zambrano deserves to miss at least one start.
