    Nice picks, Vance. I drafted all three for a league that I'm in. They're all matched up against pitchers they hit pretty well on opening day, too. Unfortunately for the Cubs, Dunn is Dunn against Z.

    Actually, in the 2007 Baseball Prospectus book, it's pointed out that Dempster was the worst of all Cub relievers when pitching back-to-back games. One reason Dempster had a worse 2006 than 2005: teams sent in more left-handed batters to face him. I know it's a dead horse, but Dempster absolutely stinks against lefties.

    And Silver thinks the gap between the Cubs and the Brewers is probably more like 4 games. He believes PECOTA is underrating Zambrano slightly and that the loss of Dusty Baker has to count for something. As for the Brewers, he thinks the forecast is just a little optimistic.

    Just like Jacque Jones needs a platoon partner, Mark Derosa needs a platoon partner. I'm not saying Todd Walker should be that platoon partner, but it is something that should be done. If Theriot fills that role, great.

    If you guys don't take the full 90 seconds between each pick, I might even be able to do some live drafting at 2 on Sunday. I did a draft in a public league yesterday and one or two guys - who were there, mind you - went down to the wire with every single pick. Even in the first round.
