Completely false. That makes a lot of sense. See the post right below this yours. Not to mention that Pie gets amazing reads on balls and has a superb throwing arm; two things that Jones does not have. I don't know why people are calling for Pie and Murton's heads. It really makes little sense. This is about hitting not defense. You can't say that Pie is a better hitter right now than Jones because it just isn't true. The future is another thing altogether. Pie still needs to work on his hitting; he's not a finished product! As stated before, Pie projects to have almost an identical OPS to Jacque Jones this year.
So you never saw Jacque play before last year? He had a .756 OPS in 2005 and a .742 in 2004. PECOTA projected Pie and Jones to have virtually identical OPS this year, but Pie's defense would be much better.
There's an article on Cubs.com about it. Pie will more than likely stay in CF. It's the right move. Besides the fact that it creates another black hole in our offense? I think Pie would struggle to match Jacque's .621 OPS.
A lot of AB's? You mean him starting? Most of his AB's this year have been starts. Cesar Izturis has one at-bat against a lefty this year, which means Ronny has been getting the bulk of plate appearances vs lefties. That's very stupid on Lou's part because Ronny hits righties better than lefties.
I love MLB Mosaic! I'm watching three games right now, and Mosaic can be set up to alert me when one of my fantasy players is pitching or hitting. Very cool.
Florida, in the bottom of the 13th inning, is calling for Olivo to bunt with a runner on 2nd and no outs. Kansas City, with runners on 1st and 2nd and a two-run lead, calls for Mark Teahen to bunt. :?
It's the top of the 9th in the Houston-Milwaukee game. There were runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. The Houston batter put a bunt down, and Estrada threw to third to get the lead runner, who was called safe. That's an annoyingly bad play, and it's one I've seen the Cubs make often. It's much more important to get the out in that situation than it is to get the lead runner.
That's pretty much Isringhausen's MO, too. The thing is, he hasn't blown a save yet to my knowledge. He's due. He's looked pretty good this year. illiniguy has dibs on Taguchi, but Isringhausen is all yours. I hear he only comes as a "package deal" with Edmonds. Edmonds likes hot chicks. Please see my avatar.

Well, that is the action of a normal baseball team, and the Cubs obviously don't qualify... 29 teams would be able to get in a guy from 3rd with nobody out The problem with these game threads is that they're too pessimistic.
Someone just offered me a trade. In a standard 5x5 H2H league, would you give up Papelbon for Zambrano if you already had Nathan, Gagne, Wheeler, and Weathers?
