    It was a straight steal and Castro swung at the pitch. Cards defenders deked Campana. Bob (who gets hard for hit and runs) blamed Campana for not picking up the third base coach, but if anyone's at fault there, it's Castro.

    To keep the shift honest. It took a flawless play to beat him by half a step. Still gives me the heeby-jeebies. There are some times when attempted bunts make sense. Mitchel Lichtman has a really good chapter about bunting in The Book. My guess is that the Pena bunt is one he'd approve of in the circumstances.

    Barney is gritty and gritty must mean speed and playing the game the right way. Hence we have Darwin in the 2 spot. No more benefit of the doubt for Quade. Screw him.

    I bought some Yankees tickets during a presale. Last year, for the first time in a decade, I didn't buy anything. I may buy a few today, but as others have said, prices are high enough now that I'll lose money if I can't go to a game and have to sell my tickets.
