  1. I can't wait for him to go 1-10 against Boston this weekend and have all the Yankee fans boo him. Yankee fans don't deserve to have ARod on their team the way they've treated him. Worse fans: Yankees fans or Phillies fans?
  2. Borowski just blew a 4-run lead in the 9th vs. the Yankees. A-Rod hit a walkoff homerun. But he's still not clutch.
  3. Only if you're in a 14-team AL only league.
  4. Good theory. Nice one Mcdunnough. :? I hope you're kidding He's either injured or way too superstitious. or a slow starter I'd like someone to show me the #'s where he's been THIS bad, in april. He had a 3.97 ERA after his third game last year, I do believe. 4.86 You're right. It was 3.97 after 4 starts, 4.86 after three.

  6. Wuertz threw 11 pitches yesterday. Ohman and Howry each threw 9. The bullpen hasn't been "burned." There's no need to bring someone up for that reason. where are you getting your pitch counts? Wuertz threw 35, Ohman threw 22 and Howry threw 21 according to the mlb.com box score. Haha. I was looking at the wrong column in Fred's useless stats. Thanks. Anyway, Eyre threw all of 2 pitches yesterday, so he should be fine. And Cotts, Dempster, Howry, and Wuertz all got the day off on Monday. No reliever has thrown more than 68 pitches total in the last week. The bullpen should not be fatigued. If Z performs anything like he did in the first 2 weeks, we'll have a tired bullpen after tonight for sure though. The way Z is pitching tonight, we'll need to finish the game with Hill and go to a four-man rotation. Wow.

  9. This is true. When I lived in Chicago, I used to go to about 25 games a year, and I always sat in different sections. I really like the 400-level seats. They're almost always better than 200-level seats.
  10. Without an intimate knowledge of the situation, I'd say it's highly doubtful Price pitches today. Games in the middle of the week are typically non-conference affairs that managers let their 3rd, 4th, or 5th starters pitch in. Weekend series will be your best shot to see Price, being the ace he'll pitch almost exclusively on Friday nights of those 3 game weekend sets. Yep, but Vandy has two midweek games scheduled this week, and I believe they usually go with a 4-man rotation, so it's at least possible that Price could pitch today and still pitch on Saturday. I really wish there was a reliable site for college starters.
  11. Does anyone know a site that lists probable starting pitchers for college baseball games? I think David Price might be pitching tonight, and if he is, I'll go to the game and check out the future Cub ace.
  12. Marquis was 3-0 with a 2.79 ERA after 3 games last year. He still has plenty of time to start sucking.
  13. It was a smart thing to do. Mabry is 1-2 with 2 runs, a double, and a walk. Garrett Atkins has a career OPS of .299 against Webb.
  14. I'm watching the Rockies/Dbacks. Mark Grace just said the 1908 Cubs had Tinker to Evers to Chance and the 1989 Cubs had Sandberg to Dunston to Addison. That's actually funny.
  15. Guys. It's only a couple of at-bats. And a career in the minors...and last year... Correct me if i'm wrong...but didnt he do really well in the minors? He was hitting .374 in AAA last year when they called him up IIRC You mean in 2005, right? He had an extremely high BABIP. The batting average wasn't going to hold up.
  16. Didn't know BP was going to bobble the ball; he wanted to avoid the tag-and-throw double play. Thats what they were saying, but I think he was too far towards the mound for that to happen. Probably right, but Barrett did what he did for a reason, whether it was the correct choice or not. IIRC, Mabry helped the Cubs avoid a DP last year by doing the same thing.

  18. Aram and DeRosa are both out with injuries. What's wrong with DeRosa? He's not very good against righties. And his back hurts.
  19. Nope, too warm dude. Wait, new manager. But, still no. This has been Lou's righty lineup all year I believe. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I'm one who believes Floyd should get a good amount of playing time, but Murton has hit three homers off of Harang. Murton should be in the lineup.
  20. Carlos gets Dunn out more than half the time.
  21. The Moises Alou inexplicable baserunning award goes to... CARL CRAWFORD!
  22. yanks lead by one. Twins offense has been nonexistent All the more reason not to play for only one run.
  23. No, the Yankees have the 1-0 lead. But that was a Dusty Bakerish move. I'm sure the Yankees aren't going to score more than 1 run.
