    The change in Ronny in particular has been incredible so far. He saw 3.49 pitchers per plate appearance in 2006 (under Dusty...), but so far he's seeing 4.09 this year. That's a huge difference. He was near the bottom of the league (including pitchers) in 2006, but now he's almost in the top 50.

    97 pitches through 7 - needs some quick innings. How many did Buchholtz throw last year? 115 He's still got some pitches to work with, but not by much. The Red Sox are adamant about pitch counts. Kind of, but not really. They do a lot of testing with each individual pitcher that, AFAIK, no other team does. Will Carroll has written about it.
