  1. Mark Lemke Terry Pendleton You guys are gonna kill my favorite gamethread game before it even starts :( BOB FREAKIN HORNER
  2. This is actually part of our strategy. No, our strategy is to hit-and-run at every opportunity.
  3. He would also be demoted the next day and maintain his current level of suckatude in AAA right? IIRC, Lilly doesn't have any options.
  4. If Lilly were Hill, he'd already be out of the game.
  5. Edmonds was one of the five worst defensive CF in 2007 according to the Fielding Bible, so this shouldn't surprise anybody.
  6. I know it doesn't matter when the other team has 7 runs, our run production has been fairly disappointing, IMO, against these Dodgers. Maybe their pitching has really found a way against us, but we just can't find a way to score more than 3 runs against these guys That's why I'm always in favor of calling for sac bunts in the early stages of a game.
  7. Because that accomplishes so much. Hey, I'm just quoting the great Hawk. Because that accomplishes so much.
  8. Worst strike call I've seen in a long time. It almost hit the dirt.
  9. I think I called the no-hitter in the 2nd inning, thank you.
  10. In Thursday night's broadcast and again in last night's broadcast the great Vin Scully mentioned that 1908 was the CUBS only World Series Championship. You used to babysit Vin, didn't you, Fred? :D
  11. Jeff Kent hates you, too. Well, I did send him a threatening letter in which I said some very nasty things about his loved ones, so he's probably not a fan. I asked Ray King to autograph my cheeseburger. He didn't think it was funny.
  12. Lichtman, Tango, and Dolphin have shown that batter vs pitcher performance is NOT predictive, no matter how lopsided, but platoon splits ARE predictive. Starting Johnson in this game is a terrible decision, especially since Lowe struggles against lefties. Lowe's splits are among the most dramatic you'll ever see.
  13. It's pretty funny except for the fact that Soriano was one of the better defensive LF in baseball in 2006 and 2007.
  14. Yeah, Lou deserves at least some of the credit for the incredible offensive patience we're seeing this year. I'm confident that that's more important than the dumb stuff he does in-game. I wouldn't mind the back-to-back lefties if Lou would pinch-hit Johnson for Edmonds when the opposing manager brings in a LOOGY, but he's demonstrated that he will not do so.
