  1. I know there's at least one writer at BP who thinks we'll eventually see a pitcher sue his team. In June or July of 2003, Gary Huckaby speculated that Mark Prior's tenure with the Cubs would end with him suing the team. Edit: it was July 2003, and Huckaby speculated that the Cubs would sue Baker over his usage of Prior, and that originally the dispute would turn into a worker's comp case.
  2. From personal experience, yes the batter is out.
  3. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is psychological with Mariotti. Good teams win because they have good chemistry. If a player has a bad game, it's because he's a choker. If DLee slumps, it's because he has a weak mind, not because he's pulling off the ball. If the Bears defense plays poorly, it's because they don't want it enough, not because of a poor scheme. Etc.
  4. I haven't looked at his groundball rate this year, but historically he hits very few groundballs and thus doesn't often ground into double plays. Yeah, just checked and only Ryan Ludwick and Khalil Greene have hit groundballs less often than Soriano this year.

  6. No. I'd rather not see Dempster get in trouble. Save it for later in the game when Wuertz is pitching or something. Drill fat McCann in his back. That's what Kevin Hart is for.
  7. They threw at Soriano last year. Lilly got tossed in the next game. That's why there was an early warning last night.
  8. Would've been nice for Theriot to bunt down the third base line. Instead, weak grounder to 2nd.
  9. Is Kevin Hart still on the team? I hope Lou doesn't make this too interesting.
  10. Oh poor Kerry he has to save a one run lead. I'm sure he's fine with it. He's a sham closer.
  11. It would have been nice to have the LOOGY ready when McCann was coming to the plate. Just sayin.
  12. Platoon splits only matter when the manager is making out the lineup card.
  13. It seems like Derosa is not clutch with RISP and 2 outs in the 7th inning or later.
