  1. He's got to be on pace for like 450 PA by now, no? Sure that's because he had to fill-in while Ramirez was out, but that's been the problem all along. They got the guy and he's going to play a lot, and he sucks. He's on pace for 472 PAs Pretty much what most of us suspected. One way or another, Miles will get his ABs, and that's a net negative. In an offseason full of terrible, terrible moves, signing Aaron Miles was the worst. I hate Aaron Miles.
  2. That's a very sad fantasy. He's eligible at just about every position. That's what makes him so valuable.
  3. At least I started Miles on my fantasy team today.
  4. There's nothing like paying $2.5 million per year for sub-replacement offense and a bad glove.
  5. Someone needs to explain to Brenly that a forcing a pitchout is not as good as a successful steal.
  6. He hasn't even hit into a DP this year has he? Are we counting Lou-induced strike em out throw em outs?
  7. I think Bob Brenly gets aroused when he talks about the hit and run.
  8. Who the worst LF? Duncan, Braun or Soriano? Aaron Miles.
  9. Ball got away from Iannetta, Fontenot got a late break.
  10. If you're Reed Johnson, your job is to make sure Aaron Miles gets a chance to hit.
  11. I'm pretty sure Derosa won't hit .150 all season. It's great to sell high, but you're supposed to get something back in return.
  12. Too bad Lou doesn't lou doesn't really have a choice. the next option for a lefthanded pitcher beyond cotts is j.r. mathes or the wrong papelbon. Pawelek? Oh, wait.
  13. His OBP is .301 since the age of 24. You can make all the excuses you want. The man has proven he cannot hit major-league pitching with any remotely acceptable level of skill. Few, if any, people who hit like he has ever turn into acceptable hitters. So you just completely ignore what hes done in the minors, and think he cant do even half of that at the major league level? Which part of the minors counts? His entire minor league career, or 600 PAs spread across sporadic playing time in two seasons? I'm guessing you *only* want to count when he was good? PECOTA projects a significantly higher EQA for Cedeno than Miles this year. ZIPS has Miles and Cedeno at identical .304 wOBA this year. CHONE projects a .310 wOBA for Miles and a .308 for Cedeno. When accounting for defense, it's certainly not unreasonable to argue that Cedeno will be the better player this year. And Cedeno doesn't cost $5 million. At any rate, it's pretty stupid to spend a lot of money on a replacement-level bench player. Miles can play a lot of positions, but none of them well. He's the Scrappy White Gremlin. It's like Hendry relapsed this offseason.
  14. Michael J. Fox to sing seventh inning stretch. If he shakes too much, expect Rush Limbaugh to get worked up about it.
  15. I agree. That .328 OPS would look miiiiighty fine right about now. Oh damn you showed me. If you think Miles is a better option at the plate than Cedeno, I dont know what to tell you. Crap ballplayers are crap ballplayers. Why bother getting worked up? Me saying "I miss Cedeno" is getting worked up? Ok didnt realize that. But at least the "crap" ballplayer in Cedeno has more upside, more power, and a better defender than mini-me Miles. And Cedeno doesn't cost $2.5 million per year. For two years.
