  1. He's awake, it seems. He's talking. I, too, of course, hope he'll be OK.
  2. Matt Clement just got taken out by a line drive to the head. It looked nasty, it sounded nasty. He's being stretchered off at the moment. I'm worried.
  3. This way I can catch the radio feed of Nomar in single A while waiting for the start... Good plan, my man. Is there anywhere online we can listen to the radio feed? Looks like rain in Peoria too, but the Chiefs look to be broadcasting from their site http://peoriachiefs.com. I just hunted it down at Minor League Baseball. There was a front page telling me I could listen to Nomar. Its nearly one in the morning now. I want at least one game.... don't wanna have to go watch Sox/Jays.
  4. This way I can catch the radio feed of Nomar in single A while waiting for the start... Good plan, my man. (Edit - didn't check gender, just went with the rhyme)
  5. Exactly what he said. Its a Godsend in the UK, although it does mean I'm very tired in work because I don't like the idea of.... I've played around a bit, but I can never get round the authentication idea. I'm sure there'll be programmes out there that can do it, though.
  6. I want it to happen tonight. I'll be staying up until 1am for the game (to start) and if I get to see two strikeouts from Maddux, I would be made up, truly made up. He's a great pitcher, and this is an important milestone, make no error. That's what this is; its a milestone. A tool that can be used in arguments, a little gold baubel to put above the Maddux fireplace. I wish him all the luck getting it, it will give him an 'official' status of pitchership, but whether it comes tonight or next time or the time after that he's still a special pitcher all told. Get in Greg. Spelling mistake of 'tonight' edited. Twice.
  7. I agree - if Nomar is back he will play at least 4 games a week until he is 100% healthy. There is no way Hendry or Baker would let him rot on the bench. If it costs anyone playing time it might be Walker against LH pitching, but that would be a shame. I hope they just give Neifi 1 or 2 starts a week at SS to keep Nomar healthy and maybe use him as a defensive replacment as needed. I'm with that - though it does leave Cedeno in the cold. I'd prefer to see him sent down if Neifi is going to be the fill-in when Nomar has his days off, cos he just won't see anything like any playing time.
  8. Do we give you the win if its a one run game, then, or goes to extras? Go Cubs.
  9. That is an awesome call, so much excitement yet he didn't even no it was going out, and than when they realized it was!! Thanks for the clip, Jon, I'd have truly missed out if I'd missed out on what sounds like a polar bear in the background shouting "A home run! Yeah"
  10. If they have to keep showing those, then all the better - it means there's no more. Maybe replace them with three Cub ones later on.
  11. he might be trying to rough up his hands a bit so he can grip the ball better when he's throwing. Might be trying not to sweat so bad, too. If its (or was) 119 out there, gloves ain't gonna help any.
  12. Sorry, it's not ESPN announcer. They're Tweedledee and Tweedledumb. Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber, you mean.
  13. There's Astros/Pirates on MLB.tv - I watched yesterday's first game too. Does anyone go to these games or are they played on the moon or something? OK, people work, I get that, but even so...there's like nobody there.
  14. Oh yeah, Firefox is king. Though I did use to use Opera for a while. Firefox all the way now.
  15. Is there a specific arm it should be worn on? I change mine with every defeat, (well, alternate, I don't have 40-odd arms) to change the luck.
  16. There has to be a pun somewhere in the pitchers of this game's names.... I'm thinking Fogg-obscuring-view-of-Wood type thing. However, it'll take someone funnier than me to think of it, and then it can appear on the MLB.com wrap tonight. Or tomorrow. Depends where you are. Its already tomorrow in New Zealand. Sorry. That should all have been an inner monologue
  17. It would be wonderful to watch Z swinging, but by the time we got to 'swinging and swinging and swinging', I'd get worried he might pull something. Maybe next year. :) (Edited to include 's)
  18. I am LOVING the guy shouting "DLEE COME BACK TO THE MARLINS" in the background. The shouting's been good all day, but that's a highlight.
  19. I remember about a week ago, Corey seemed to be working the count a little more, so I think the extended break might do him good. You know, head down, think about something else, come back stronger. He can still field well, and can still run fast, so here's hoping he gets the Ks and Hs sorted into order and becomes something like the Corey we hoped he was.
  20. BTW, love your screen name, TRD. I tried to get the gmail address therobotdevil@gmail.com, but every variation on it was taken. :( Thanks a lot. I've promised to change the Robot Devil icon if D Lee plays at the All Star Game (This was before he was voted in), but I love the guy - it was his "how deliciously ironic" that did it. I think I prefer him to Death on Family Guy... rest assured, however, its just a name. I'm neither evil nor robotic.
  21. I'm reading the date wrong, right? Its April the first. Somebody? Anybody? Ah, well. MLB radio for me, then.... :x
  22. 10. Derrek Lee is beginning to look vaguely human again. 11. Nomar has been injured since dinosaurs roamed the Earth. 12. Greg Maddux is less consistent this year. 13. Bad things happen so often that they are almost expected there's a pre-emptive internal groan now.
  23. It'd take something special to pick Dusty off in the dug-out with a foul ball. Is it too much to hope Corey could do it and redeem himself?
