  1. What happens if you take a boot to a delicate region? You're going to be damaged enough to possibly leave the field, but 15 minutes? True true...I like the suggestion above me though. 5 mintues should be a more reasonable time I think. 15 minutes is a bit too harsh, that's a third of the half. I don't know if you saw Grimsby much this year, but there's not a lot of rolling about at that level - the players aren't agile enough to get away with diving. Its just at the top level and internationally that the International House of Feathers become a potent weapon. Its something that needs to be addressed, and I've no doubt FIFA will introduce a baffling rule at some point. What are you doing up at this time anyway?

  3. England have 21 - but only 5 goals - that's a goal every 4.2 shots, although one of them was an own goal. USA have 1 - from 4 shots - everyone can work out that average.
  4. Jan Koller. The Czechs were very very overrated if the loss of one striker (albeit their best) was the sole reason why they couldn't get one point in their last 2 games. Lokvenc. Baros. Ujfalusi. All three missed at least one game.
  5. I don't like seeing so many Yankees hats in the UK. But that balances out when I see the street-cleaner wearing an As hat, or the guy who goes to Town games and occasionally wears a Reds hat. I prefer to think good of the good guys than bad of the indifferent ones.
  6. Saudi Arabia are in with a shout. Depends how Spain take it.
  7. *Additionally, Scottish men paint their faces blue, wear skirts and roar a lot. From personal experience with Scots, the roaring part actually is true. Ditto.

  9. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/meast/9902/14/lockerbie/great.britain.map.jpg Right. Looking at this, there are four clear areas; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is, as the name suggests, the unification of all four of those named areas. It includes the big island and some of the small island and is the name of the team you see in the Olympic games. Great Britain is the name of the big island - the one that contains England, Scotland and Wales. England is the bit below Hadrian's Wall and to the east of Offa's [expletive]. Why is this important? If you ever come to the UK, you'll realise that the people of each of the four countries have very different personalities and very different identities - each equally strong. The Scots, for example, have been cheering England's opponents as forcefully as they cheer their own team during the World Cup, as they always do.
  10. They're all different. I'll dig out a map and explain.
  11. That makes it 3.00pm BST? Yes, it is.
  12. Half times; Ivory Coast 1-2 Serbia & M. Ivory Coast have been whipping Serbia, but gave away two stupid goals; the ref's been a bit odd, not least in the sending off of Albert Nadj (of Serbia) at the end of the half. Argentina 0-0 Holland Argentina doing all the pressing - have hit the woodwork - but to no avail. Riquelme looks very good again.
  13. Equaliser from Iran. Angola are as good as eliminated now.
  14. I picked him up in mine - but only because I needed a cheap catcher who'd be getting some sort of ABs.
  15. Same height as me.... Don't ever try and climb the stairs to the top of the York Minister, you'll be ducking the whole time. Been there, done it, bled on the t-shirt. I love the collection of kings in York Minster; that's my highlight.
  16. Same height as me....
  17. I reckon the scoreline was arranged beforehand.
  18. - I don't think he can quite believe he's there.
  19. Crouch is on. There was, then, absolutely no point in SGE taking Theo Walcott to the World Cup, was there?
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing Owen Hargreaves play in his actual position for England for a change, and then maybe people can get off his back for a minute or two. Is Hargreaves in the starting line-up ? Yes, he's starting as a defensive midfielder.

  22. From what I've seen, its been as much Ecuador with their foot completely off the gas because they've already qualified, and Germany finding it a little easy to pick them off from time to time.
  23. Its worth noting that the top team in Group A plays the second team in Group B, and vice versa, in the next round.
  24. It was Mexico and USSR in the 1970 World Cup, but it wasn't to go through. I apologise to Italy.
