  1. I'd be willing to take a chance on Winslow for either a 2nd round or a 3rd round pick (third would be preferred). In the small amount of time that he has played, I believe he has done very well.
  2. Quoted from the article about the author: I don't put a ton of stock in his writing. He seems to be a sensationalist going for the outrageous comment.
  3. I agree. LeBron is showing a maturity early on that is reminiscent of some of what made Jordan so great in the 90s. He's an explosive scorer and leader, but he also makes his team better. That's not to say that LeBron is Jordan or vice versa, but LeBron is impressive. Kobe is a dominant player, but I can't say the same praise about him. Lebron cant be Jordan, he's not the killer that Mike was. I'm not saying Lebron is the next coming of Jordan. In fact, as much as I like Lebron, I highly doubt he'll reach the heights that Jordan reached as a player and leader. That being said, he's the closest thing we have had to Jordan since his 2nd retirement and he displays flashes of what made Jordan so great. However, there will never be another like Mike. Ever.

  5. I agree with the comments on Bettis. I want the Steelers to win so the Bus finally gets his ring. But I really wouldn't mind Seattle either. I'd just prefer the classy Bettis to get his due.
  6. The Sports Illustrated article features a great deal of Cs, leading me to believe its heavily curved. There is only one A and only some Bs. The author probably gave us a B in comparison to other clubs, not independently examining each team.
  7. Depends on who the AA player is. If it's Dustin Pedroia or Val Majewski as two examples, then buh-bye Corey. Not to sound stupid, but I'm unfamiliar with those prospects. Based on the reaction, I can figure out that they are solid prospects, but can someone give me more specifics on these two.
  8. Hey Len. Marquette student here. What's your take on the whole Prior for Tejada rumors that have flown about the past few weeks? Do you feel it was blown out of proportions? Just wondering for your insight. Also, what other sports and/or teams do you follow closely? Thanks. We are Marquette.
  9. Of course this could be the Orioles just trying to get more in a trade for him as well. I'd believe it more if Tejada said those words to a reporter. The Orioles could be desperate for leverage if the White Sox, Red Sox, and Phillies all become unlikely suitors.
  10. The 'Skins scare me a bit, but luckily we wouldn't have to face them until the championship game. By then, they would either be eliminated or (hopefully) banged up enough for the Bears to take advantage. Seattle and Washington match up the best against the Bears.
  11. So we now get the Pirates first round draft pick, right? I know Burnitz is a Type A, but I honestly don't know for sure how the system works.
  12. So do we get the Orioles' first round draft pick if they sign Burnitz? I know he's a type A free agent, but the whole system is hard to figure out for me.
  13. I'd give up a good amount for him, but not Pie. A bit too steep if you ask me. Figgins is a heck of a player still, and I'd love to see him in Cubbie Blue.
  14. I posted a Sports Illustrated article earlier today that essentially said that. They got their info from the Baltimore Sun.
  15. Sorry if this has been posted already: According to two industry sources, there was some preliminary discussion between the Orioles, Cubs and Oakland Athletics on a three-way deal that included Miguel Tejada, Erik Bedard, Mark Prior and Oakland ace Barry Zito among others heading to new homes. But at this point, the A's asking price for Zito appears to be sky-high. -- Baltimore Sun http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/scorecard/12/23/truth.rumors.mlb/index.html
  16. If he's unhappy with the current Cubs organization, why would he want to go to Angelo's Orioles organization? At least the Cubs don't have a Boston and a New York to outspend and outplay them every year.
  17. I don't trust Murph as far as I could throw him, but if Zito moving to Balto gets Prior's name off the table, that would be wonderful. I'd assume though that we'd get some sort of player package in addition to Tejada. Am I wrong?
  18. OK. I just playing devil's advocate here. I really don't want to trade Prior, but if he is gone, what REALISTIC return from a Boston/Baltimore trade would justify it? I do not condone it. I'm just asking what realistic return would make us a better team.
  19. Amen. I'm not getting any crap from them this year. Was up until we thumped them a few weeks back. "Well, you haven't faced us yet!" Sometimes I hate living in Milwaukee.
  20. I'm a Bears fan, but I gotta tell you it was painful to watch Favre and GB on Monday night against the Ravens. The guy has earned the right to do what he wants, but I'd almost hate to see him fizzle out like MJ. Anyways, here's hoping the Bears' D crushes him on Sunday.
  21. Remember, you heard it here first. :D Wow. Are you psychic? :)
  22. Mike went to a rival high school of mine. Hate to see him a Yankee, though I'll always follow where he ends up. Same as Scott Olsen of the Marlins. Different high school, though.
  23. Maybe it's being from Illinois and going to school in Wisconsin, but I had always assumed Bears/Packers was the rivalry to end all rivalries (even if it's been dumbed down of late). At the risk of sounding naive, can someone explain the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry to me and why people think it's better than the older Bears/Packers one?
  24. Which is best? Do you agree with their list?
  25. My linguistics class used that exact same map to discuss language variation. Crazy. Anyone notice that STL is randomly soda?
