    Actually that explains that Texas was stupid for trading a guy who hit like that in the minors after only 200 ML at bats. Especially because he was only 22 and 23 those years.

    To be fair, Chris Young was a huge flyball pitcher, and everyone knows that the Texas stadium is a launching pad, so that would likely have never worked at all. Also, Adrian Gonzalez was blocked by Tex at first base, and had experienced real troubles adjusting to MLB pitching. In 2004 he hit .304/.364/.457 with the AAA team. Got called up and hit .238/.273/.381 in 44 ABs. In 2005 he hit .338/.399/.561 with the AAA team. Got called up and hit .227/.272/.407 in 162 ABs. That might explain a bit.
