Derrek Lee with a non-interview. Didn't really reveal anything, but didn't appreciate the fact it came very close to his head, and he didn't like the response he got from Young.

Why would you expect Cubs fans to have a different opinion of a bench-clearing brawl from the fans of major league baseball games everywhere else? No, I guess not. I mean it's always fun to see a fight, especially between millionaires. But I guess I'm just depressed at what this means for the club.

Does that mean racist or just profanity? I rather doubt anyone is stupid enough to use racist language on the field or in the clubhouse. I don't understand why everyone assumes racism. Young has teammates of different races and it wouldn't make any sense to use a racial slur against a member of an opposing team. Chris Young is not John Rocker. I think we're just looking at some type of non-racist profanity toward Derrek Lee. I think it's mainly because D. Lee is such a cool, calm character that we have to assume it was something really bad to make him react so strongly.

BS. Did you not see the quotes in the paper? They threw at Lee because Soriano pimped his HR on Friday. All the work DLee did last year to get back, and this fool thows one on his wrist? DLee did what I would expect from a guy who just had 4 months in rehab flash before his eyes. If you are going to come high and tight, you better expect some action. He completely lost his cool, and it's gonna cost this team big when they need him most (right now).

Matsui is making a good name for himself in Colorado though. .328/.355/.474 with 11 SB in 116 ABs this year.

What kinda bugs me is all the fans cheering on the fight. This isn't Jerry Springer, it's a Cubs game. Go nuts when we win, not when one of our star players is gonna get suspended.

What a disappointing game. The whole thing stinks. All I gotta say is that Young better have insulted his daughter, because anything less makes Lee look like an idiot. This is gonna lead to a big suspension, and this team has no run producers now. What a @#$!ing waste.

No kidding. I do think that Barrett needs some time off. It seems like last year he got a day off about once or so a week, and I think it helped him a lot. In contrast, Lou seems to run him out there every day, so I think some time off could really help him.
