    I'm sorry but there's no way the Cardinals fall that much, and that the rest of the division does so well. There's no way the NL Central is gonna be that close top to bottom.

    Yeah, but I'd guess 90% of people wearing Yankees hats in England don't know who the Yankees are, and if they do, have never sat down and watched a baseball game. In my experience, they wear them mostly for the design on the hat. Doesn't prevent me from scowling at them though... :x

    To think we had Corey and Neifi at the top of the order so often...with such horrible OBP..... By the way, in case anyone cares, that is a textbook example of a strawman fallacy, one of the more common types of fallacious reasoning. Google Search Says: The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern: 1. Person A has position X. 2. Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X). 3. Person B attacks position Y. 4. Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed. This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position simply does not constitute an attack on the position itself. One might as well expect an attack on a poor drawing of a person to hurt the person. :lol: :lol: :lol:

The Military Museum in Vienna was quite impressive. I think Vienna is my new favorite city. We also went to Bratislava as a day trip. That was cool too. Not much longer now...

    Ah...ye olde Contract Year myth...I don't doubt it takes place, but I would think it happens more often with the Barry Bonds type character than the Derrek Lee type and Greg Maddux type character...

    Hmm...I'd really wait and see if Pie increased his BB/K ratio this summer in AAA. If not, I'd say use him as trade bait at the deadline, and see if we can't pick up a player to put us over the top.

    Well Murton and Greenberg got called up from AA last year, so who knows? The extreme earliest I would expect him would be the expansion of rosters after Sept. 1st. And then he'd just get a taste of the big leagues. I would doubt he'd be called up for significant time this year.

    Also, there's another article from the Hardball Times right here that shows some graphs over the last few years regarding his BB/K ratio, his ISO, and his BABIP. Interesting stuff.

    Well I certainly hope we find someone. There is a great article right here from the Hardball Times specifically about how bad JJ is against left-handers, and how much it cost the twins when they kept running him out there. Suffice to say, Jones turns into Neifi against left-handers, and to quote the article: Also in the article they mention how well Restovich performed in the minors against lefties.
