  1. Was reading the comments on one of the blogs, and one reader says Lovie would be "too smart" to show the Pats all their blitzes and defensive formations in case they played them again in the Superbowl. Certainly an interesting point that no one had brought up yet. After all, this was a MUST-WIN for the Pats, and not so much for the Bears.
  2. New poll at chicagosports.com about which QB has received more criticism for winning 9 games, Orton or Grossman? This should be interesting.
  3. This might be useful for some. http://www.attheplate.com/2007/07_rookiea.htm
  4. Yes, but without any ceremony and in a separate "Those who Disgraced the Game" corner where Bonds and McGuire will go.
  5. They needed two scores anyway?
  6. Bingo. Let's see how they look next week before pushing the panic button. They did a nice job coming back after the Miami loss. Did we really expect them to go undefeated; to sweep 3 straight East Coast roadies? Grossman has his issues; but let's wait and see. Agreed again. The Grossman haters will ride hard this week, but really, what can you accomplish by playing Greise? Greise was there as a BACKUP in case Grossman got hurt. Until that time I would be very disappointed with the coaching staff if they listened to the talk radio junk and benched Grossman. Grossman is the future, and he's showed a hell of a lot of promise in his first full year. We took down two tough New York teams, and lost to one of the best teams in the NFL, and a 3 time Superbowl QB. Their defense is stellar, and they were playing at home. I'm not saying there weren't things that went wrong, but I'm very far from the panic button.
  7. Reverse the Curse prediction: Pats: 24 Bears: 14
  8. Huh? Sheets, Capuano, Bush, Villenuva, Vargas is still pretty good. It leaves the Brewers with just two guys who started 30 or more times last year. I guess only reliable starter was an exaggeration, but it does weaken their pitching staff. The next highest was Sheets with 17 starts.
  9. The Brewers traded their only reliable starter!?
  10. I'd prefer Zito to Schimdt due to age alone, but I'm not sure this will be enough for Zito at all.
  11. I doubt Hall is going anywhere. The Brewers would be foolish to deal him.
  12. Same could be said for Soriano?
  13. Oh great. He's back in the NL Central. CRAP.
  14. Inside the Ivy is NOT a reliable source. At all.
  15. Wouldn't CF be the hardest of the OF positions to play?

I'd have to agree to this one, never had it with rum or brandy, and I don't think I'd like it with that.

    You get the idea.
  18. I'm gonna go with Matsuzaka, if he signs with the Red Sox.
  19. I thought the same thing when I heard that. Needless attacks on Soriano that don't even make any sense. I have the sense he's just trying to poison the waters.
  20. Trade him to the poor, desperate team that loses out in the Carlos Lee bidding, and has no other options for a power bat. I don't want him playing at all in our OF, SELL HIGH!!!
  21. I'm glad Pierre is gone, if only for the sole reason that I'm sick of reading sports journalists talk about how "hard" he works, and the "dedication" and all that jazz, instead of actually looking at his numbers or his noodle arm. I guess I'm just sick in general of the new wave "folk scrappiness" sports journalism. Also, not sure if we're ones to talk, but HORRIBLE contract.
