    Eh, Madden's not so bad. He's a Captain Obvious, but at least he's a friendly, familiar football voice. I dunno. I just naturally associate his voice with football, so I don't mind him so much. Compared to Mike North, who's just an incompetent blowhard and frequently gets things totally wrong and deliberately misleads and exudes arrogance, I think Madden would be a blessing.

    :( I don't get it. IIRC, if he's put on the IR he can't come off until the next season. Meaning he wouldn't be able to play at all next year. That doesn't make sense. The quote, which is common knowledge I thought, is stating that Tommie Harris cannot play in the playoffs. He will be able to play opening day next year. I am not sure what you are saying. Oh. I was under the impression that the quote meant he would be starting next year on the IR, therefore missing next year altogether. I thought it said "Tommie Harris may be on the IR and not eligable to play next season". My mistake.

    I've heard that less power pitchers come out of college for this reason, and that pitchers coming from college generally have more pitches because they're more afraid to use the fastball.

    Wow, had no idea this board was so high on Benson. Isn't it a concern that he's taken this long to develop?

    I think that may be giving too much credit to Lovie Banedon, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears defense stepped up just as Indy's defense stepped up on Saturday. Plus, all this business about momentum makes me sick. The Packers game was nothing more than an exhibition game, with the key being that no one got hurt, and our enemies think us weaker than we really are.

    Hopefully the Saints lose to the Eagles too. But I'm reasonably confident in this matchup. I think we can beat them.

    I think Dempster will be traded before the season starts. If he's on the team, he'll probably be given the closer role at the beginning, before he blows a couple leads and Kerry Wood steps in.

    Got my awesome orange Vasher jersey for Christmas....and I'll be wearing it on New Year's Eve watching the game. The good thing is that at my party the game will definitely be on, and then I can just keep on drinking for the normal party. It's gonna be a hoot! Time to smash those Packers and finish off Brett Favre.

    Was it easy to get tickets? I was thinking of attending Friday night's game against the Bruins with some of my friends...probably sit in the cheap student section. Haven't seen a Hawks game in AGES...
