  1. I would also like to inquire about this statement. What about Angel Guzman leads you to believe this is his breakout season? If anything, I expect him to be regaining arm strength in AAA.
  2. Ah, Lance Briggs, Tacklebot. 8-)
  3. Hahaha. The bartender said over the speakers when that happened, "Laces out, DAN!"
  4. Got my Vasher jersey ready. T-minus 15.5 hours and counting.
  5. Hahaha...he heard you.
  6. I'm pretty sure I'd MUCH rather take on the Eagles.
  7. Ravens need a TD here....and the penalty doesn't help.
  8. But that's just it. He doesn't have the standard qualities of a 3-4-5 hitter. He has bad K/BB ratios and less power than would be expected for a middle of the order guy. Also, there's a huge difference between situational hitting and laying down a bunt in the middle of the order.
  9. I like the analysis of your posts, but you need an editor to correct for spelling and typographical errors. :P
  10. Ugh. Just ugh. :x
  11. Ahahaha....check out Cubs.com, what a sad state of affairs.
  12. Didn't even practice? Doesn't that mean they won't play?
  13. I too would like to make a correction. The perception that he pitched much better in 2005 than 2006 is quite incorrect. Actually his WHIP was similar (1.43 vs 1.51) as well as his K/BB (1.82 vs 1.86). The real difference between 2005 Dempster and 2006 Dempster was "clutch". In 2005 he had an incredible 77.5 LOB% as opposed to 63.3% in 2006. Now the question is, which one of those is the abberation. Well, probably both. In 2005 he allowed 131 runners for an expected runs allowed of 44 (as opposed to actually allowing 35 runs). In 2006 he allowed 113 runners for an expected runs allowed of 38 (as opposed to actually allowing 47, although only 40 were earned). Dempster probably isnt going to be as bad as he was last year, but allowing so many baserunners, I'm not optimistic for a repeat of 2005. Even if he would have allowed 38 runs last year and assuming conservatively that 7 of them were unearned, his ERA would have been 3.72. Still not great for a closer, but probably a fair projection. But it's better to have him be a closer than designated our best bullpen pitcher right?
  14. Indy - Baltimore is gonna be an AMAZING game, as is Pats - Chargers. I think Baltimore's gonna pull off the upset here, with their amazing defense. As for Pats - Chargers....I just don't know. I could see either team winning.
  15. What would be the best way to go about purchasing next round's playoff game....would I be charged if they didn't get there?
  16. I agree with the previously mentioned sentiment that Dempster is a fine closer in the 9th with no outs. But that is usually not the most important inning or situation, and we have Wood and Howry for those "Fireman" type situations. I think that combination could work very well.
  17. I thought Clinton got rid of that with NAFTA? =D> =D>
  18. Wow, that's a lot of money. Poor Beckham, he's gonna get roughed up pretty badly in the much more physical MLS. I predict his decline will start much faster than anyone expects. It'd be like him going back down to League Two instead of playing in the World Cup. The World Cup and overly watchful reffing is the best for Beckham and his skills, not the rough 'n tumble MLS.
  19. Wouldn't mind Church...but I think Jones is better?
  20. Jon, may I just say that I thought you were a hell of a lot older than your picture proved to be. I was thinking 30-35. Boy was I off.
  21. So I'm guessing U of I isn't anywhere up there?
  22. His explanation is that Rex is more concerned about the where the next party is than what the next job is. Unbelievable. I knew as soon as Rex made that statement about not being prepared, everyone would be all over it. I know it seems silly, but Rex seems to be singled out and ripped on more than any other player I've seen in a while. Also, I'm pretty sure Rex is a gametape freak and a pretty hard worker. Plus, I think Orton is way more of a partier than him. Nope. Corey Patterson beat that.
