  1. What has gotten into Jacque, taking a lot of pitches?
  2. I think it was a realization of what he had gotten himself into.
  3. This year Conley is the first point guard taken. Next year Mayo, Rose, Gordon, Collison, and possibly Collins make the spot a little crowded. I would go now were I Conley.
  4. he did take it away from someone. when he was starting at the end of last year. shouldn't floyd have to take it from him? Yep this is typical cub crap. Like when Corey had to earn at bats from Damon Buford. Or when we had to let Fred McGriff get his 30 homers even at Choi's expense. But, at least this year they wrapped the turd up by letting us all think Murton was going to play by giving him all the Spring ABs and the opening day start. Is it the Cubs fault Patterson and Choi became "turds"? murton will be fine. I doubt this was apremeditated plan to play him in ST and opening day. I don't think that Patterson is that bad, better than any other position player we have produced in about a decade. Choi flopped, it happened. Couldn't we have let him play when we 30 games out instead of letting a one year rental hit 30 homers. The same one year rental who really never wanted to come to our team.

  6. He looks like first half '06 Murton right now, hitting little dinkers in the IF and striking out a lot. He looks lost. I don't think he has an XBH hit yet. It's only been 15 AB, but he's looked pitiful at the plate. You don't just get handed a position as a youngster unless you're a top prospect. Murton's going to have to take it away from someone, and if he can't do that against the likes of 87 year old Cliff Floyd, then he doesn't deserve a starting job. I thought the last two years he earned that right. I guess not.
  7. Everyone give up on the pipe dream that Murton is gonna get fair amounts of playing time. It isn't going to happen. This team(organization) doesn't value him.
  8. At Jersey scares me. Kidd and Carter have been playing well of late. Hopefully that Cavs slip up and make that game unimportant. We will lose that game at NJ. I want no part of them in the playoffs. We just don't match up well with them at all. You'd rather face Miami in the first round than New Jersey? Bulls' strength matches up well with Jersey and the Bulls are too deep. They'd win in 5. Miami, OTOH, I want no part of in the first round. I agree completely about Bulls in 5 over NJ, and I'd much rather face the Nets over the Heat. Miami doesn't scare me, but Nets-Raptors is a much easier path to the Eastern Conference finals than Heat-Pistons. Bulls are 19-7 since the All-Star break. Angst over a road game at New Jersey seems pretty silly. Part of it is I loathe Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson. I hope you are right.
  9. I would have to agree with everything that you said there.
  10. It isn't even exclusive. If I have the service I should get the damn game. What a bunch of crap. I get the damn White Sox though.
  11. This game isn't on Extra Innings. Wonderful. Stupid World.
  12. Yeah. :) Cook? Are you serious? Cook is Joe Forte just waiting to happen.
  13. You're right -- Felix will be much better. He may end up being better, but Corey isn't that bad a big league player. Sure his OBP sucks, but I think Felix will have that same flaw as well.
  14. yeah, he is, but O$U set themselves up to be a "one-and-done" NBA launching pad program, so they better hope they have a dominant freshman class every year Which with the new graduation rules present should get them in trouble. Although at that school I wouldn't be suprised if the NCAA just brushes the penalties away.
  15. True, save for Zambrano pitching with a 5-0 lead=OVA. Lol. Ok last time I will do that. Sometimes it feels good to laugh about the Cubs.

I want no part of them in the playoffs. We just don't match up well with them at all. Well, they did just beat NJ a week ago by 30 in Chicago, but lost the previous 2 matchups vs. the Nets. We can't beat them in NJ. So we would have to be perfect at home. IMO they beat us if we play.

Yes because I don't want to lose because we can't stop Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson. I think we would smoke Miami.

  19. All three Ohio State Frosh went. Cook, Oden, and Conley. Oden and Conley had to. Cook is crazy.
  20. Our farm system should take a big jump this June though, barring we don't Cub that pick up. But yeah, I don't get too excited about most of our prospects. I think Gallagher will be a good pitcher, Veal worries me because of his bouts of control. Pie is Corey Patterson all over again, except, imo, doesn't have the same upside that Corey did. Besides that I need to see more from the Shark.
  21. I'll bet they find nothing that calls for surgery. But, whether he gets the knife or not, do you really want another year of this soap opera??? If by soap opera you mean choosing between having unhealthy Prior and losing him after this season or taking a chance that he can get healthy and be under control next year, then yes. I definitely want another year of the soap opera. It's only a soap opera if we make it so. I'm not paying any attention to Prior this year, personally. So it's no really a soap opera at all, really. Says the guy with Prior in his sig. :P
  22. I wish I lived in that area. I would have loved to have caught games when Delmon Young and Elijah Dukes were in the league.
  23. I love how a guy like Griffey never loses the ball in the sun. Oh and now this game is OVA.
