  1. We need to get two pitchers. Gallagher is in no way ready to help get us to the playoffs. How many teams in the NL have good #5's? Well then our 4 sucks ass too. Adding one starter would make Lilly or Dempster our number 4. Right pushing Sean out. Like I said we need to add 2 to get Marquis out as well.
  2. The Cardinals missed Santana in a four game series

  6. The Royals got 5 runs off him in 5 innings. God dammit Edmonds what the hell was that?
  7. nice work sean, he is one of the worst hitters alive.
  8. So I imagine that they will just have a new Seattle Sonics team in a year or two then? isn't that usually how it goes? The last thing the NBA needs is expansion. In fact I would be in favor of contraction.

  10. I can't see him helping at all this year. I think the Cubs should start using him out of the pen whereever he is at. Hell use him him one hitter at a time. Pick lefties who have no shot to hit him. Let him start getting successful again and try to build his confidence. his stuff isn't the problem. it's his control. it's not like he's getting battered around every time out. No I get that, but it has to be a confidence issue at this point as well.

  12. With 13 pitchers you only have 4 guys to pinch hit, and one of them is the catcher. He probably didn't want to burn any more pinch hitters than absolutely necessary. Yeah, but keeping 13 pitchers is another head-scratcher. Silly La Russa That dummy, who does he think he is? The third-winningest manager of all time or something? He should thank Dave Duncan for that. Duncan is the genius there.
  13. How foolish am I for wanting to have woody start again?
  14. This. I thought some people had made a strong case for the point that Marmol has actually been as valuable (or almost) as a SP due to his level of dominance in high leverage situations. Has that changed with his recent struggles? It is an unknown, Sabbathia isn't. Our team's window is probably two years. We almost have to go for it.
  15. I would in a heartbeat. Sabbathia is a Cy Young winner. Marmol is great, but not a Cy Young candidate. Are you crazy? What, you trade a very young and dominant relief pitcher just because he has a couple of bad weeks? For a guy as good as Sabathia, yes without thinking. For 2-3 months of Sabathia? Just saying. Yeah, we have the money to resign him. If we don't we get two picks for him. I think it is worth it.
  16. Sabbathia is a Cy Young winner. And is only under contract for 3 more months. Yeah, either resign him or draft well.

  18. This [expletive] division. Before the season everyone said 90 will win it. 90 might be good for 3rd.
  19. Marmol goes in the toilet and Solloman Torres is lights out. Bout par for the course.
  20. god dammit. Carlos has sucked ass lately.
  21. Brewers take the lead on a hit from Cameron.
