  1. while he didnt get the hit he did make lohse work He always does, no? true
  2. well now you're just trying to give me a boner. You should see the one with that guy and Mangino with his shirt off. HOT
  3. This is the inning Rammy breaks out. I can feel it.
  4. Lets hope the Dodgers can step up their offer here. While Id rather CC stay in the AL, Id much rather him go to the Dodgers. Also, the Dodgers might be inclined to outbid the Brewers if it comes down to it, as they are more likely to be able to offer him an extension. If they're truely serious, they migh need to add Kemp, Ethier, or Loney to the deal. What if we were to try to get in the action with a 3 team deal and get Brad Penny or Derrek Lowe from the Dodgers, just for the sake of blocking the Brewers? Long term we might be better off if the Brewers get Sabathia. why? short term it makes me nervous... i think the brewers are a little bit crazy to do this...and if they do they have to go after another bullpen arm... if they get C.C., they won't be resigning him and they won't resign sheets...so they are obviously in win this year mode I agree. Possibly getting Sabathia doesn't guarantee a playoff appearance. I mean, the Brewers could trade 2-3 good to great prospects to get a half season of Sabathia, not make the playoffs, and lose him in FA with Sheets. I know some will say, they could get 5 out of the top 40 picks, but losing both pitchers, would set the Brewers back a couple of yrs, if they don't find suitable replacements. So, it's a HUGE gamble for the Brewers. A gamble I don't get. They only have to gain one game on the Cardinals and they make the playoffs anyways. They better hope that he is hot for them for the two months they have him.
  5. Who is doing the game on Fox ?? Karros and his lisp. And some other guy.
  6. Bwahahaha awesome they knew about a third of their names.
  7. According to Bill James. The Cubs have the most wins tied in 1 year most over 2 most over 3 most over 4 most over 5 most over 6 most over 7 most over 8 most over 9 It was in his book that did the break down by decades and then ranked the best players by position. Yeah... I was speaking in terms of winning pct specifically because they have lengthened the schedule a couple of times over the last 107 years. For example, Seattle tied the '06 CUBS record of 116 wins in a season a few years back, but they went 116-46 (0.716), while the CUBS had won 116 in a 154 game schedule, or 116-38 for a winning pct of 0.753. These two team feats are, in my opinion, not even close. Gotcha. Both are pretty amazing.

  9. I imagine we had some pretty nice stretches in '06 as well. 116 out of 154 isn't all that easy. Our second half must have been amazing.

  11. Early June. FWIW, Butler is back with the Royals, he's 6 for 14 with a double and HR since being recalled. The only reason he was sent down is because of his attitude. Well that and when Guillen snapped about the young players on the team he meant Butler. Yep, the Royals sent down a huge part of their future to appease Jose Guillen. You know the same Jose Guillen the Angels left off of their playoff roster a few years back because he was a clubhouse cancer. What a joke the Royals are. Haha, no. The reason why he got sent down was that his plate discipline was just terrible, and he was in a major funk during the time. When Guillen snapped, commenting that the players weren't winning and that the losing was getting old, he was right. The Royals team desperately needs to find an identity, and to do that, they're going to have to cut the lazy pieces of lazy players that was bringing this club down. Yeah, he's a clubhouse cancer all right when he was just only complaining that the 12 game losing streak was getting old. I should also point out that the Seattle management regretted for not re-signing Guillen. How was Butler any different this year from what Alex Gordon was last year? As a hitter? Plus the team kept up Tony Pena Jr. and Ross Gload. Sending down Billy Butler was a joke. As for the Guillen thing. No that isn't the only time he has snapped this year. He didn't run out a grounball a few nights ago that he would have beat after the fielder booted the ball. He then proceeded to cry about the fans booing him. Saying he didn't give a frick about the fans. The Radio stations down here have all basically said that Guillen's rant is what got Butler sent down. Oh and good for Seattle they want him back. They are a horrible organization. Meanwhile the team that wins that division every year, the Angels, want nothing to do with the clown. Funny. How about for an identity they start getting good players, then resigning them?
  12. Rich Hill Matt Cain? He could be available, but I am not sure why. The hardest thing to get is good, young pitching. The Giants have it. Why the hell would they start to move it now?
  13. If you have Towles in this list, may as well put in Felix Pie as well. Unlike Hill, Willis, and Francouer who have had a few years of major league success, a lot of the others are basically prospects who werent ready yet. Butler was as good as Hill for pretty much the same amount of time.

  15. He is hitting .296 .393 .630 good for a 1.023 OBP. I think he is still doing ok. A 1.023 OBP? He's getting on base more often than he comes to the plate? ;) Yeah, That should be OPS. #-o Plus I had bad numbers. Double #-o
  16. He is hitting .296 .393 .630 good for a 1.023 OBP. I think he is still doing ok. Bruce is hitting .292/.361/.477/.837. He hit .223/.274/.340/.614 in June. why is minor league baseball.com so wrong??? still .837 ops is pretty great for a 20 year old centerfielder.

  18. Valid point Cubs have gotta land CC though, that's the key move, IMO. If only we had drafted a good player at the number 3 spot last year. Then maybe we could try and get C.C. As it stands right now. The Brewers have much more to offer. You've got to be kidding me. Kind of. You don't think Weiters would help land Sabathia? I don't think we have what it takes to get it done. Vitters doesn't? 18-year olds who are OPSing over .900 at short season are good trading chips. To say that Vitters isn't a "good player" just shows your bias in favor of Wieters doesn't allow you to judge Vitters properly. Actually I haven't been following as closely since my daughter was born. Didn't know that Vitters was doing that well, but still I don't think he is the trade chip that most Cubs fans thinkn he is. Congrats! He's a top-40 prospect the way he's been playing. Remember, he's young for a HS draftee, that really helps his status. He's certainly not going to be as valued as Wieters or LaPorta but he's a fantastic chip, especially when combined with a guy like Pie (a lot of teams surely will still like Felix). Thanks, Yeah I guess a lot depends on what people still think of Pie. But, will Cleveland want him? They have a pretty good centerfielder.
