  1. Until Carlos shows the power I can't see him being above Javy. I know it very well might come and if it does, yeah he's gonna be great. But, I just have to see some more of it.
  2. I can see the Sano love also. huge power, great plate discipline, and not much further down the defensive spectrum.
  3. He's gotta be a top five guy. He's taking walks now, has huge power, and plays short. Buxton, Bogaerts, Correa, Tavares will all be ranked higher. Bradley, Lindor, and Sano are possible as well. Off the top of my head, there is only one guy on that list that I am completely convinced is a better prospect than Baez. Buxton?

  6. The Dodgers I don't think you can infer that from the simple fact that the Dodgers signed him. And this treatment of the Puig situation (by some) as being one where the Cubs goofed by missing on some clear cut stud is bordering on the ridiculous. The Dodgers paid a crapton more money for Puig than they presumably bid for Soler. I think it's pretty easy to infer. It doesn't matter whether it was 'clear-cut' or not. It's their job to find these things. Different owner and Puig was the last guy on the market. They couldn't afford to miss out and get the next one like they could with Jorge.
  7. I met Giancarlo on Monday. Good lord he is a large man. That is all.
  8. I have to think today's events of Clark claiming "Albert did steroids! The trainer told me he did it!" and the trainer saying "nope, didn't happen" are a pretty good start. The trainer is the one he said had Pujols on the steroid regimen, so he's not about to say he did that whether or not it's true. This certainly sounds like a more plausible slander case than most of the proposed suits I hear about, but it's a really hard thing for a public figure to win. Now, if evidence of Pujols on PEDs does come out, I like the trainer's quote Take that, Rodgers! It sounds like he did it the first week he had a radio show. Exactly, he was an fsmidwest guy and readily available to talk to the media to get this out there if he knew about it and it bothered him. No way some trainer told him this.
  9. Geez Jack, why did you wait for Albert to leave town to drop this nugget? Sour grapes and wanting to make a ratings splash is all this is.
  10. I had, but saw someone asked Law about him and he kind of blew Lambo's year off. Not sure what to think of him.
  11. By a test that was anonymous and wasn't supposed to count? The union fucked these guys by having them take that test.
  12. And Wellington swings at a pitch that hasn't been called a strike all day. If only he was playing a position that allowed him to know that. :banghead:
  13. It's awful that his career is ending like this, baseball made so much money marketing these guys when they knew what was up. Now they're taking them all out. So stupid.
  14. I think it's safe to assume Almora will get promoted within the next few weeks to Daytona. What does it say about daytona that this actually annoys me a little bit. i just want almora to stay on the field. Doesn't the rain let up later on in the season?
  15. Sign me up for an Alfonso Soriano at SS, while cost controlled.
  16. One or more of that Cleveland, Detroit, Washington group will make a run at 45ish wins. I think the bottom of the East is better than it has been. Pacers are super dangerous. They've added some nice punch to the bench. I don't see how the pistons win that many games in the division they are in. The other two I could see though.
  17. I don't know how valuable Barney would be on the bench. I would rather have a bench guy who could hit more than basically being a defensive replacement. Some team that is looking for a solid defensive IF might want him in a trade We've been thinking that for a couple of years, I don't think that this is really the case. At least most teams would rather use their own defensive first guy instead of giving away assets to get Darwin.
  18. He does this at the start of every level. Then he quits hitting for average and still has no power. Both guys have their warts. Give me the light tower power. Lindor is also nearly a full year younger than Baez. They're really close, but I give a slight edge to Lindor. That said, since we already have a long term SS on the big league team, I'm not disappointed we have the guy with the higher offensive ceiling. Yeah, I like Lindor as a prospect. I just prefer the offense that Baez brings to the table. Nothing more.

  20. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this.
  21. Keep your eyes peeled for the ninja.
