  1. Eh we might as well not win 97 games again and get swept in the first round. might as well just win 85 this year and then get swept in the first round. Nice job Jim. =D>
  2. I love how you can not mention your own team's success without mentioning the University of Kentucky. By the way, the firing of Tubby Smith has nothing to do with Billy Gillispie. I honestly believe that it was simply time for both sides to part ways. It remains to be seen whether Gillispie will equal Tubby's tenure or surpass it. I'm willing to give him more time. Tubby didn't exactly leave him with much. UK made the tourney last year with one of Gillispie's players contributing. The guy who scored 92 points in one game happens to be a Tubby guy. Plus the glaring weakness on the team right now is also a Billy guy. cough DeAndre Liggins cough.
  3. Your team usually has to be, you know, good to win Big Ten POY. Usually. He's top 2 in two of them and top six in the other. I don't know when the last time someone was that high in all three but I would venture a guess its been awhile. Did Andre Woolrdige win BTPOY? I know he is the last guy to lead the conference in assists annd points.
  4. This Huskers game is fixed.
  5. Shout out to Gatorade for giving its national player of the year to Greg Paulus his senior year. He definately should have won it over Dwight Howard. It was a good piece of scouting to know how just how good Paulus would become. didn't nick smith win that award or something? Na he would have until they found out he did some nude photos of himself on a ten speed while eating an ice cream cone. He was immediately stripped of that title.
  6. That sure was the longest 4.999 seconds ever.
  7. Mike Patrick is awful. How they let him broadcast Duke games when he is openly rooting for them is just wrong.

  9. Typical Duke game early. Road game yet still Wake getting a ton of ticky tack fouls called on them.
  10. Sully what's going on ewith Blackshear now? Is he really transferring suring the middle of a school year?
  11. UK isn't KU. I expect more than what you listed in this past decade, there should be no reason why UK is not a legit national contender. Looking at some of the mediocre programs (GT, Ohio St. Illinois, UF 3 times, etc) that have been to the title game is terribly frustrating. Those are not mediocre programs. Well maybe GT is. But, the other ones are not mediocre. Not elite, although tOSU could make that argument, but not mediocre either. They're good but not elite, I'd agree with that and some of them are better than what UK has right not (well of those 3 U of I is better right now and close with UF). Despite the last 10 years, I still view UK as an elite program, probably 2nd to UCLA. Of course, UNC and Duke have definitely gained ground to where I once held them given how well they have done over the past decade compared to UK. I do too. I still go UCLA UK UNC IU Duke KU in that order

  13. Walter McCarthy Yeah 10.1 per. I still like UCLA cause of the higher end pros. Plus any college team with MJ, Big Game, Sleepy, and the Jet is going to be pretty hard to beat in terms of pure talent.
  14. Who is the 9th pro? I got Mohammed with a career 15.3 per Walker with a career 16.0 per Sheppard 18 games Mercer career 12.5 per Anderson career 15.3 per Pope career 6.4 per Delk career 13.7 per Turner 3 games That's eight and Sheppard and Turner are cups of coffee at the best.
  15. Maybe a little bit, but that '96 team is still the most talented team of all-time. you could make a valid case for the Tar Heels of the early 80s obviously. I would take any of Alcindor's teams at UCLA as more talented simply because they had the greatest player in college of all time. Plus the UNC team with James Worthy, Michael Jordan, Kenny Smith, and Sam Perkins. You know guys who did something once they got to the pros. How many of the UK guys were worth a crap in the pros? Walker was probably the best, he doesn't really compare in the talent department to these other guys.
  16. I thought that was going away after this coming draft. Even if it doesn't, who knows if we even offer him arbitration. We didn't Wood. :blackeye:
  17. Lol. Yeah those cats were the best team in college history. They weren't even the best team that decade. UNLV. And as far as talented UCLA had Swen Nater just sitting on the bench behind Bill Walton. He then gets to the NBA and leads the league in rebounding.
  18. And Lewis Jackson should yell at whatever guy on his team didn't call that screen out. I don't blame Krabenhoff at all, his man however should get an earful.
  19. They weren't bad college basketball players, they just weren't a good fit for a motion offense. I'll always be a fan of Brian Randle cause he was a genuinely nice guy every time I talked to him, and took way too much flack for his play. Beyond Brian and Shaun not fitting in the motion, Frazier spent most of the year hurt, DMac, Davis, and Tis were developing as freshmen, and we were a tremendously unlucky team. I always said last year's team was not nearly as their record showed, but even my most optimistic estimate had us as an 11 seed in the tourney. This has been pretty amazing. Yeah this has really made me rethink my opinion of Weber. I definately am glad he's our coach as I think our team, while very improved, has no buisness being 17-3. randle was a heckuva defender though. except for those 2 dumb fouls he would get 40 ft from the basket every game. big props to weber this year. just think if we had a legitimate post player? Just think if EJ would have just decommitted right away and we could have got one of Manny Harris or E'Twaun Moore who were both rumored to be leaning our way. :banghead: imagine if derrick rose commits to us while ej was solid and we win the national championship last year. Since Rose could have played with Eric at either spot and chose not to, me thinks he didn't want to play with E.J.
  20. ed hightower is awful.

That's true.

  24. 17-3 after last year. How bad were Shaun Pruitt and Brian Randle?
