  1. Wow. Yeah I don't think Iowa is going to be the elite of the conference anytime soon. I'm honestly fearing a PSU or NW run of futility right now. We suck. Cheat to get Barnes. This is your best bet. I've been advocating it for months. His girlfriend is already going to Iowa to play basketball. Pay his mom $300,000 to be secretary. Make his dad head of basketball ops. Maybe even pay the girl to get knocked up. I'm only partly kidding. Why not? If you get caught fire Licklighter and tell the NCAA, like IU, you punished yourself enough.

  4. Come on. The other team self-destructs and gives you a chance ton win and the best you can do is throw it to Lewis Jackson with 6 seconds left and tell him to create? I used to think Chris Kramer was the most annoying person in the Big Ten. Now I can't decide if it's him or his mom. Either way, I wish she would stay and watch the next game in her trailer so I don't have to see her screaming like a lunatic every game. Oh believe me I'm mad Painter didn't use a timeout to actually set something up. Jackson was still able to get in the lane and was fouled but it wasn't called. Purdue could have and should have won it and that play didn't account for the crappy defense. For those that didn't see it Jackson got past his man who grabbed his arm as he went by. It threw Jackson way off balance, hence why his layup bounced off the glass three feet to the side of the hoop. I just wish Hummel doesn't miss any more games. We're now 0-2 in the Big Ten without him. If Lewis Jackson wasn't so small that wouldn't have effected him so much. That stuff happens all the time at the ends of games and it isn't ever called. The referees let the players decide the outcome.
  5. I think your a lock anyways. The damn anti homer should have just put us on the list. As an aside we are totally playing in round 2 this year.
  6. Lol, it's more that they are on and we aren't. We have the same record. We played the same teams in a couple of spots. We both beat Kent State. You guys did at home and by more. We both beat Jackson State. We won by more. We both lost to MSU at MSU. We kept it close, they blew you out. We have the same record, but you are a lock. Explain that to me. Oh and we are ranked higher. rankings are pointless, but their RPIs are basically equal. the only reason i could see having kansas on the list is because they're 7-0 in the big xii; illinois is 6-3 in the big ten and if they finish at .500 or worse in the conference they could miss the ncaa tourney. kansas there's pretty much no chance that they finish .500 or below in the big xii. True, but that is more because the Big twelve is just awful. There are three tournament teams in the conference. They are one of them, they haven't played the other two yet. Hell they haven't even played the bubble team Mizzou yet. I know they will get in and they will deserve it when they do, but to say they are in now when their best win is in Kansas City against Washington seems a bit premature.

  8. This has to be a joke. Who the hell has KU beaten to make them a lock at this point? Washington. If they are a lock, Illinois with the same record and a wins ove Purdue at Purdue would make them a lock as well. Also what the hell has Davidson done but lose to a bunch of good teams before their conference started?
  9. Come on guys there could be an update on Robbie Hummel's back brace and we just cannot miss that. After all he's going to make us all look so stupid.
  10. not if they play the way they did the past 2 games they won't Game and a half. We started to move the ball like a motion offense team in the second half again. But yeah, the previous game and a half were an abomination.
  11. If we could steal a win at Kohl, or maybe it wouldn't be stealing one now, we could easily win the conference. I mean I know that Purdue is better than '68 UCLA and '96 Kentucky roled up together, but I still think we could get it done this year.
  12. We are so awful right now. Mike Davis forgot that he is a good player a couple of weeks ago.
  13. Can't wait to hear the Purdue's fans justifing Manny harris getting kicked out for elbowing Chris Kramer.
  14. yeah but it never works that way unless the player on the "bad" team is overwhelmingly good. In all honestly, one would have to wonder how often the best player in the Big Ten plays on a subpar team. Basketball is a five-person sport and one player carries great influence. Not to say the team with the best player invariably wins the league championship, but I'd posit it would be exceedingly rare for the best player to play for a mediocre to poor team. Agreed I think you take Harris of Michigan though and they are almost IU bad. come on. they beat ucla, duke and illinois and pomeroy has them rated #78. IU is rated #210 and the best team they've beaten is either TCU or cornell. they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath of bad-ness. Yeah, but I think most of that is because of how good Manny Harris is. Plus ask Raisin, for some odd reason Howland who is normally an awesome coach suddenly gets his [expletive] on when it's against that 1-3-1. I think he could use my rec league team and give UCLA a game with it.

  16. He didn't break any records, so the feds don't care. True, but he cheated and lied. But, he was a Yankee so I bet he slides.
  17. They better do the same thing to the Rocket.
  18. He will. Billy's a stud. Also their farm is loaded, but it is at the lower levels.
  19. That guy is a dick. I met him when he played for the Royals. He sucks at basektball too. We beat hs team by 15 and that was with Greg Gurley keeping them close. Questions: Was McCrae a prick? Gurley can still hoop? Was he just shooting, or did he have any athleticism left? Na McCrae was ok. He was clearly the worst player on the court so he was pretty nice with everyone. But, man did he body the hell out of you. Gurley was one of the nicest stud athletes I have ever met. He has kinda let himself go a bit. Still a good shooter and still was a decent athlete in flashes. He made one move where you could go, "Damn, so that's how he played at KU." But, he was very good at getting guys up in the air and then jumping into them to get to the line. Still has a pretty good game and I can imagine he was a load when he was younger.
  20. Your team usually has to be, you know, good to win Big Ten POY. If Harangody leads the Big East in scoring and rebounding again (he's doing both rather easily right now) and doesn't win Big East POY, I'll be pissed regardless of ND's standing, and I'd imagine the same applies to Harris and UM. If Harris proves to be the best player, he should win the award. If not they should change it to conference MVP and be done with it. That said, I'm sure someone will prove to be at least as deserving for a more competitive team. Depends on who finishes where obviously. If Purdue finishes top 3 I could see Hummel or Johnson winning it. Johnson has been the best center in the Big Ten (16th in points, 11th in rebounds, 3rd in FG%, 1st in blocks). Meanwhile Hummel is still putting up very good numbers despite playing with a bad back and not practicing a single day since December. Plus he has the preseason player of the year going for him. People could vote for him because it makes them look good for picking him in the preseason. Right now I would vote for Harris but there isn't a clear cut definite favorite. i dont think you can be 16th in points and be BTPOY. haha, well that objectivity for ya. but, in actuality, i think the whole purdue team deserves to win it, and i assume that they will. Agreed, actually on second thought I am going to give it to Matt Painter's mole in a tight race over Thad Matta's mole. Cubbiebum, how about cause Robbie can't sniff Manny Harris. That a good enough reason for you? How about because he is less valuable to his team than Kevin Coble is to Northwestern?

  22. Winning less games while still making the playoffs seemed to work for the Cardinals. Yeah we aren't the Cardinals. Case in point, Mark Prior isn't jacking 30 homers a year for us in centerfield either.
  23. I can't believe the Illini have won 20 straight against Minnesota, including sweeping 3 games last year. I can, they have been awful. Well I can't believe we swept last year.
  24. I hope we win tonight. Won't be able to watch, I will be playing basketball against former cub great Brian McCrae.
