  1. Let me be on record in saying that I like Purdue. Always have had respect for their program. Much like MSU I always cheer for them unless it impacts Illinois.
  2. To be fair, Davis was actually worth a [expletive] last year also Isn't that the truth. He's been almost completely neutralized this season. Seriously, what happened to him this year? I don't know, but it wouldn't suprise me to read he was sick or hurt. Cause this isn't the same guy as the one who played last year.
  3. We'll have to wait and see for that. First we'll have to enjoy the Illini's NIT appearance. Right. We find two more wins and we are in. That's far from a given. At this point, an end to this disjointed mess of a season might just be a relief. I'm pretty confident going into next year and beyond. Having said that, I find it amusing that as recently as two or three years ago, no one here was talking about Purdue, yet now there is a cabal of outspoken fans, acting pretentious. Will they go back to being invisible when Purdue goes back to the middle of the pack? Only time will tell. And for sulley: all this "godless chucking" that you moan about seemingly every game is a function of the Illlini playing piss poor perimeter defense. A team who doesn't typically shoot a lot of threes (like OSU) will when they know they can exploit a weakness by doing so. Most players at this level can drain threes when they are allowed to. I think we win against Minnesota at home and at Michigan. I also think we get Wisky at home. that being said with this team we could lose out.
  4. ohio state is a talented, athletic team, which is why i find their "chucking it like there's no tomorrow" strategy strange because they normally don't shoot a lot of 3s. Ohio State shot 21 threes Illinois shot 23. 14 of those were in the 2nd half when they were down by 20. Does this mean Iowa isn't a bunch of godless chuckers since they only shoot threes while down by 20? Hey isn't Illinois gonna finish 7th or 8th in the conference this year? I coulda sworn you said that.

  6. No way, this one half in which OSU shot 60 percent from three is definately enough for all of us to throw that out the window. 3 point shooting or not, OSU is running Illinois up and down the floor. Illini making bad passes, can't do anything inside, and have had ZERO prouction at the guard spot. No one beats anyone that shoots over 60% from three. No one.

  8. Nothing to see there. Except for the Illini again not getting home court from the refs. Plus they're playing like ass. I liked the charge Lighty took on McCamey, while jumping.
  9. they beat illinois? this loss sucks. i didnt think theyd win, but they totally screwed it up at the end. too many times this year theyve been close but just cant finish the game. Why would an Illinois fan think that was done right?
  10. What? Didn't he only play there two years?
  11. He is isn't he?
  12. I really don't hate Kansas basketball, I think its a tick over rated historically, but still elite. Only hate their crazy side of the fan base.
  13. http://www.statesman.com/sports/longhorns/texas-headed-to-the-big-ten-not-likely-230052.html As for the Big 12 protecting KU more than Texas, that doesn't make a lot of sense. The conference alignment is based on geography, not some sneaky attempt to put KU in the softest division possible. And the basketball tournament, which was always in KC, now rotates between three locations. (Which is fair, but it doesn't support KU getting preferential treatment.) There are a bunch of other points to support that the power is in the south (and Texas), not the least of which is the fact the conference office is in freaking Texas. Besides, why would they protect KU hoops over Texas? I'm sure UT makes way more money for the conference. KU hoops is the "franchise" though. The Big 12 oughta just drop the cup cakes and go to a longer schedule like the Big Ten did.
  14. dan bebee is a pretty big moron though. although maybe this talk of texas leaving will finally get his attention that something needs to be done within the conference. of course, it could just make the pandering to whatever texas wants even worse. The Big 12 is in trouble. I love how everyone thinks they do whatever Texas wants, the way I see it they protect KU basketball more than anything else. The schedule the past 15 years make s the South beat the crap out of each other while KU breezed through the crap North. Luckily the North schools have made good hires recently. thats true, although the north has been doing pretty well at the top the last couple of seasons, with ku, mizzou, and kstate playing well. and the big 12 is in HUGE trouble. itll be interesting to see if bebee is smart enough to do anything. i really dont know what the answer is other than the big 12 needs a strong leader who can somehow stabilize the entire conference., something bebee is not. Agreed you guys and KState have both really improved so this is less of an issue, but for a decade Texas OSU and OU all had really good teams get hammered because they beat each other up while KU ran through the North.

  16. They could quickly turn around and add those respected non-BCS schools and turn it into a 14-16 team mega conference that would maintain it's status with numbers. Take away the best of the WAC and Mountain West, then let the remaining teams from those conferences merge. I guess, but it sounds like they could lose a couple of schools to the Pac Ten as well.
  17. Man if Texas leaves the Big 12, how long until the remaining Big 12 isn't a BCS conference?
  18. Well they have to do something to combat Harangody's get your crap packed, yet throw your arms up and you get to shoot two free throws anyway. Enjoy these last 5 games Luke. You haven't watched ND once this year. Harangody's been shooting jumpers like crazy. If he actually employed that strategy we might not be on the bubble right now. And if Luke Harangody got half the calls a certain other undersized white forward got his entire 4 year career got he'd be shattering scoring records. I've been watching this game. There were three pays in a row where he got the benefit of the doubt on calls. One was the charge where he was moving. He does seem to get those calls. But he gets less than his share - in my biased opinion - of the ones you're referring to, when he's on offense. I'm not sure why he gets so many of them, I guess the refs are anticipating a lot.

  21. I take it Meyers didn't make it? Doesn't sound like it. They have to fit more white guys from Duke on the team. Well, I thought for sure the 3rd ranked center would make the game. Oh well, I am sure there is another Greg Zoubek that Duke signed that has to get in this game in his place.
  22. Not on here. Go to the Phog though. Deadspin has even identified her.
  23. I take it Meyers didn't make it?
  24. Can't we all just cheer for the gym to collapse?
  25. http://deadspin.com/5468840/roy-williams-is-a-clueless-dick Video of the quote is included. The thing that cracks me up is Kansas fans are just wising up to the fact that the guy is a fraud and phony.
