  1. What are your expectations for this year and the next few years? I think we have to make the second weekend this year. I don't think we will. I think next year will be a step backwards becuase of not having a true poing with experience. After that we could lose Myers and Jereme. I expected to lose both after their sophomore years before the season started, but Meyers doesn't look like he's ready to go within one more season. I guess with a guy of his size, it doesn't take much, but I'm just not seeing the NBA skills developing that quickly. he won't be ready, but that doesn't mean he can;t get drafted highly. He's a freak athlete. I really think we need to land a commitment from one of the '13 kids soon to keep this thing rolling.

  3. I live in Kansasy City moron. I hear about it on our radio everyday. No I didn't have to look it up. And the really funny thing is you thinking I'm dumb for thinking he ran a better program than what we have now. No I think you're a pathetic hanger on who hasn't gotten over his girlfriend dumping him 6 years ago. I don't even really want Self back. Just someone who can manage to win us a tournament game more often than we have a presidential election. That too much to ask for? Not at all. As I've said multiple times in these threads the past 4 years have been unacceptable, but firing Weber now is really locking up the barn door after the horse got out. He recruited like [expletive], and our teams became mediocre because of it, save '08-'09. Recruiting had always been the issue and now we're recruiting well, and people won't let go. We should be no worse than a 5 seed this season(I've personally predicted a 3), failure to secure a top 6 seed this year would be a failure, and a failure to win a tourney game (even with the crapshootiness of it) would be a miserable failure. And I have little faith in this happening. Ever since Dee Brown left campus we've been average to worse. As for the recruiting thing, the next guy would do fine. Just keep Jerrance here.

  6. Why are you still shocked at Scout mods being horrendous homers? Why are you freaking out that we're down 4 at the half. It happens to EVERY team. Even your bff baldy I'm not worried yet, if we get to the under 10 mark and are still trailing though I will start to worry. The mod thing is more humor than anything. Oh and Self hasn't lost a home game in like 5 years. Nice try though.
  7. On scout one of the mods is making it sound like Oakland is some good team that we should be happy to barely beat at home. Does no one remember the late 90s and early 00s when we never, ever lost at home?
  8. We haven't lost to a mid major in a bit.
  9. Zack also didn't talk to the media here, the team protected him. That is until he decided to go the media himself and rip the organization for constantly rebuilding. Which was a crappy move since they have went out of there way to protect him fro the media. He really angered the organization when he did it that way instead of just coming to them. I have no doubt he is traded and that the Royals end up a better team for it in the long run.
  10. Some dude that should be a 5th rounder. Na we have only really done that one time. I am thinking it's time for a tud pitcher we can break quickly. Haven't done that in a bit.
  11. So who are we looking to draft with the first pick in 2012?
  12. Don't really understand these rankings. Tennessee is #2 in the RPI, #4 in SOS, and has beaten Villanova head to head on a neutral court, yet ends up ranked 3 spots below the Wildcats? It's probably something to do with your program having a dirty, cheater at its head.
  13. Why bring him back now? They don't really think we are gonna compete this year, do they?
  14. I think it was Ron Mercer He did, he pinned Mercer's shot to the backboard with two hands.
  15. Like when Davis put up 20 on Carolina? Coming into today we were tops among Big Ten teams in % of points on 2 pointers. I'm talking about establishing a real physical presence in the post. Someone who can be fed down low, back a guy down and score at the rim. Other than Leonard (potentially), I don't see any players that can fit that bill. As we have seen (Texas), big teams can really push us around down low, and we don't rebound well at all. I'm concerned about what guys like Sullinger can do to the Illini. Quick, name me ten guys in all the NCAA that can do that. Sullinger, Morris..... True. I guess my perception is that while the Illni do get a lot of 2-pointers, relatively few of them are in the paint. The rebounding is genuinely concerning, though. Yeah, but I think as the season goes on and Jereme and Myers get more adjusted to big time college basketball, we will start to rebound the ball better.

  17. I hate that he takes his foot off of the pedal so much. Keep attacking and put people away. Great win though. Now we gotta beat Mizzou.
  18. I seem to recall him raving about us last year, but yeah, his commentary during the Carolina game was shameful I'm sure with the Big Ten getting better each year in reguards to recruiting the talking heads at ESPN are told to bad mouth us. After all we started our own network.
  19. Brandon Paul is special.
  20. This is very sad news. Poor Ronnie. Hope he's in a better place.
  21. UCLA was jobbed. Phog magic.
  22. Well in 2008 and 2009 Duke played in Mackey Arena and the Kohl Center for the challenge respectively. Yeah they finally went into true road venues. I wish with Sergio and Frankie we would have got them to come to Assembly Hall.
  23. He was a bad outfielder then, now he's a firstbaseman?
  24. I'm not sure how $14m is steep in price. It's steep if the owner doesn't have any money. If buying the Cubs took all of his money, maybe they weren't the right choice. I doubt, had baseball approved Cuban, we would be in this same boat.
  25. Knight's senile, but I am telling you it was his partner that night.
