    That has got to be the biggest steal in all of baseball. I keep hearing that they are going to re-do the deal to give him more money and a few more years.

    How much of that was during his comeback from injury? The Royals basically treated his September like spring training for the playoffs. He was pretty bad during that time. Good call...24.4% before the injury, 30.2% after Thanks. I have watched a ton of Alex Gordon and I absolutely love him. That said, I would much rather have Heyward. Me too, what would it cost to pry Cain from the Royals? He has to be getting expensive soon?

    I'm just not that bummed out, yeah we got beat. Yeah, Daniel Murphy hates gays. But, I just think this was the beginning. This year we got a no hitter, rookie dongs all over, and we beat the cardinals in a playoff series. This might be the best season any of us have ever had as cubs fans, I'm not letting four games ruin all of it.

    And almost everyone in our lineup is <25, and cost-controlled for at least four more seasons. Even the magical Cardinals never put together an offense like this. Hate to throw truth on the pity party, but 2015 is an enormous success by any measure. Oh yeah, everyone knows that. In a day after we've all stepped back this will be easier to say.

    . The cardinals are presented with the MLB crown immediately upon completion of the regular season. (Note: it's a real [expletive] crown with jewels and stuff, not some [expletive], loser metaphor.) Remaining teams are allowed to play a for second place. The "winning team" is awarded a framed photo of Stan Musial receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Remaining teams get participation ribbons. So he's cool with their 2011 title, even though it was a wildcard one?
