I feel bad for Groce. A lot of this crap isn't his fault. That said he hasn't recruited to the level we need nor shown enough with X and O's to stick around. Time for a change. Nice guy though, will cheer for him wherever he lands, unlike Weber. Why? Weber was a nice guy too, just not a great coach. Hard for me to feel bad for Groce -- he's a bad coach and was a bad hire from jump. Weber is an ego maniac. That press conference after the Purdue game, the fake Bill Self funeral, the constant "I out coached Bill Self" crap, the forcing Brian Carwell off of the team after his teammate left him for dead showed what he was all about. Groce hasn't went insane. He's just in over his head.

Ugh. Maybe a lack of control (real or perceived) will negate the injury excuse and cost Groce his job at the end of the season. This season had some promise, but what a [expletive] train wreck. I don't know why I watched, but I did. Good lord, run a horsefeathering play at the end or give it to one of the guys who didn't shoot 3 for 14. I don't know, maybe Nunn. Argh, this season is another fun one. I think when Frankie's kid goes to IU, that's when I'll stop following college basketball all together.

I hate watching great players stick around way too long. I mean I get that Kobe didn't want to go out to injury, but this sucks watching him now. And I am a Kobe hater.

Not that I'm 100% behind Groce, but I can't help but wonder where we'd be right now with a healthy team all year. Not crazy to think we'd have one loss. Even with the injuries, i think this is a tournament team. They are the most talented group since 2005 team. They have star power, upperclassmen leadership, young shooters, athleticism. They aren't playing completely cohesively right now thanks to Groce's lack of in-game savvy and their penchant to give up wild and ridiculous 3s, but i'd be surprised if they aren't better than .500 in conference and aying well come the postseason. Groce gets another year, i think. Finke, JCole, and Jordan are a nice nucleus to build on and i think he'll get the benefit of the doubt. He's gonna get another year because we don't have an AD in place and because we are going to have to do something about football. It would be in his best interest to land a couple of top '17 kids early. He misses on Frankie's kid and I give up.

Nunn has played one game and went off in it. I don't know whether to want Groce gone, or to want him here. I think people forget how bad of shape we were in when he took over. He has gotten some nice out of state recruits, just can't land the big one from Chicago.

Well yeah, but pretty much everyone is going to lose to Iowa St. this year. I just hope we make it a game.

After we pop 10 wins this year, I hope JCL is a star for us and not someone else.

They need to sell the farm and go after Gregg Marshall, pay him as a top 10 coach and give him full control. I also like Archie Miller and Larry Krystkowiack. Wichita State has the billionaire Koch brothers backing them, I don't think that we can out pay them even if we were smart enough to try to. If we fire John Groce, Archie Miller won't return our calls, most likely. They go way back and are really close.

Jordan's steal, then shot over Malone. Whole play was a great way to cap his career as a Bull. Ingram steal, Deron's three. Who knew that would basically be the last good thing to happen to illinois basketball in a decade? Aramis Ramirez's grand slam that put us up 3-1 with Z, Wood, and Prior going. Thought we were going to the World Series for sure.
