    I am ok with moving him, I think Contreras kind of makes him more expendable, but for a huge return. A Jose Fernandez type return, not for a reliever.

    We used Cahill the very next inning. Madden [expletive] the bed. Cahill has poor splits versus lefties and they had two in a row coming up, plus a switch hitter after that. Yeah, it wasn't a great alternative, but Peralta has nothing.

    i remember looking up gary scott's minor league stats one time, and wondering why in the hell he got any hype at all. i guess the cubs' minor league system was so pathetic that he was the best they had to offer at the time. Who was the third baseman that followed him, kevin orie?

    Now is the time to spin him for Randal Grichuk, before he becomes Gary Scott.

    Everyday that guy throws logic out the window in order to put down the Cubs. Not shocking.

    Even if he never grows he'll have value as an elite defensive player around the mount and he'll run into double digit homers and enough hits from natural talent alone But his approach is endlessly frustrating it's true I feel like you can see he's making attempts to change. Hopefully the light clicks and he really takes off. But, if he doesn't, like you stated, he still is super valuable.

    So, Lester is our best pitcher right now. I think that contract might end up being pretty good. Sure he is a pitcher and they all break, but he seems like he should age well, until he breaks. Damn pitchers.
