  1. Brenneman seemed surprised that he had only batted clean up 4 times.
  2. Please. The ball was 10 feet away. Slide around him and touch the plate. How did AJ know the ball was 10 feet away (which it wasn't)? . Exactly. But I'm the one that's blind. Don't the Sox lovers have something better to than hang around a game thread at a Cubs board? Not enough Sox fans that know how to read and write to have your own board? Actually, I don't enjoy WSI. I enjoy the conversation on this board and feel like there aren't many MLB boards better than this one. Very intelligent baseball talk. Bu t den agin aye kent reed o writ.
  3. Please. The ball was 10 feet away. Slide around him and touch the plate. How did AJ know the ball was 10 feet away (which it wasn't)? Also, what was Anderson doing? He came in slugging at anybody, I don't even know how him and Mabry got into it. Also, I was disappointed Pods and Pierre couldn't go after it.
  4. You cannot be serious. Yeah, it was sort of stupid, but he was fired up. Barrett grabbed him and slugged him. I lost a lot of respect for Barrett. So the unsportsmanlike conduct by AJ means nothing to you? There is a difference between being a bad sportsman and punching someone in the face.
  5. You cannot be serious. Yeah, it was sort of stupid, but he was fired up. Barrett grabbed him and slugged him. I lost a lot of respect for Barrett. Yet you still have respect for AJ, right? Did he slug a player in the face? Also, how does AJ know the ball is not even close? I don't think it was right, but saying he deserved it is laughable.

  7. I have no confidence whatsoever in Freddy at home. Cubs 5-2.
  8. See: Above. He doesn't just randomly bring them up.
  9. I don't think it's an argument about whether or not it inspires the team. It's more about letting the umpires know they effed up a call. The foul tip call was horrible, not to mention the first base call, Ozzie went out and let them have it. That's better than sitting on your hands.
  10. Well, when a player's statistics say that he makes outs around 90% of the time, it is applicable. Don't go crazy just because the guy can get one hit in a game that is long over. I'd imagine having Bynum in the lineup twice a week would get OLD.
  11. Please. We're all human beings, no need to let sports loyalty cloud your judgement to the point that you sound like a maniac. Show some respect. He doesn't have to respect Sox fans on a Cubs message board. Fair enough. But this whole "Sox fans are trash" stuff from J.R. is just annoying. I get it, you hate them. You'll literally eat the tickets? Really?
  12. Also, I understand any criticism about a lot of the fans at the park or the park itself. If you're a fan of Wrigley, then going to the Cell is a completely different experience, i.e. less historic. The fans aren't great, but I've found that most every ballpark contains these types of people.

  14. Not sure, Haeger has been dominant in AAA, and I guess they don't want to mess with McCarthy. I suppose they could be showcasing Haeger, but I'm not sure what for.
  15. This sucks. They just called up AAA knuckleballer Charles Haeger.
  16. Why did Koronka come up so randomly last year? I never quite understood that move... Also, since when is Miguel Batista THIS good?
  17. Great coverage continues from ESPN...
  18. Anybody else sick of Boomer giving away every single pick before Tags does?
  19. The AJ trade is my personal favorite. Great job San Fran! I won't defend the Pods for Lee swap, but I always think of it as Pods/AJ/Iguchi/El Duque for Lee. Lee freed up some cash that was used for those three. Obviously, trading a power hitting corner outfielder for a slap hitter isn't a good idea, but it cleared cash and Ozzie pretty much begged Williams to deal him.
  20. Good luck today guys, and this season, go Zambrano for the sake of my fantasy team!
  21. This really shocked me. I thought for sure Jose was gone at the end of the year. I'm still kind of confused about what Kenny wants to do with Brandon. And to answer the question about the minor league pitching for the Sox, Outshined hit the nail on the head, beyond Brandon, not much. Trading Gio and Haigwood didn't exactly help.
  22. They're definitely locking up their core guys, another great move.
  23. I think Collins will qualify, his situation isn't half as bleak as Rush's was this time last year and he ended up qualifying. Well, good job on a nice season and congrats on getting J. Wright (that one really hurt, I loved watching that kid play in HS).
