  1. Oklahoma and Ole Miss are first 1-2 teams to be ranked since 1999
  2. Art Briles. Book it.
  3. Stop being influenced by the crap Gary is saying
  4. He was wearing a Cardinals jersey. Duh. Coghlan would probably be hitting a robust .210 if he was on their squad. Maybe it's the beer but this doesn't really make sense to me Being classy enough to play for the Cardinals instantly raises your BA by at least 40 points.

  6. Of course it's one of the Cardinals klansman looking dudes they always seem to have
  7. This thread really brings into perspective what a family we have here at NSBB. There's lots of bickering and ball busting here, but in the end, many of us have "known" each other for over a freaking decade. I don't know what most of your opinions are of me, but I would definitely go out of my way to help any of you guys if you needed it. I consider all of you longtime guys to be legitimate good friends of mine despite never having met any of you. I feel like we are a big family and we've just lost one of our family patriarchs. Tim is the father. Fred was the grandfather. At least that's how I see it.
  8. Great story Raw. He was such a thoughtful guy.
  9. Went to games with him in Mississippi twice when he was passing through. It's like he timed his drives through the south to be able to see the AA Cubs play. We had dinner both times at the Cracker Barrel next to the stadium. He was a very gentle and kind hearted person. We all loved teasing him during those dark years when he was often literally the only person posting in a game thread. He was awesome. This is some crappy news to see in the morning. My father also passed away a few months ago from cancer, and I do take some small comfort in knowing that he isn't suffering anymore. Wherever Fred and my father are these days, at least they are no longer in pain. Oh man, the floodworks. Thoughts to you and yours CubmanPi. Nothing but the passage of time will help. Best wishes to you Fred, wherever you are. I considered you a friend and was so very glad to have met you.
  10. Bama is going to destroy Ole Miss. They are gonna cruise to the title.
  11. This pitcher looks like he needs to be pitching against Gehrig or something
  12. Indeed. :banghead: :banghead:

  14. holy crap. what a terrible, terrible strike call.
  15. Hammel finally realized what month he's in
  16. Last night was the perfect example of the double edged sword that can occur from an effective HUNH offense. Ole Miss had 5 TD's drives and they were 1:46, 2:19, 1:56, 1:45, and 0.47. Thus, Florida State's TOP was 42:39. No defense on Earth can be on the field that long and be effective. The tempo offense is great when you score points, but when you go 3 and out in 40 seconds or you immediately turn the ball over, your poor defense has to run back out there. After being up 28-6, FSU scored 33 unanswered points. That's out of control. At any rate, I think DeAndre Francois is the real deal for a freshman. He kept getting absolutely hammered and stayed in there and made his throws. If he keeps improving, FSU is definitely a favorite moving forward. They have athletes all over the field.
  17. Too bad he's been outbid for linebackers his entire tenure
  18. A 30-0 run for FSU. Hilarious
  19. And there it is This game is over
  20. Ole Miss implosion coming
  21. I get what you mean by comparing him to Nutt. They both have that "aww shucks" type of thing going on. However, that's where the comparisons end. Nutt was enormously lazy in all facets of being a head coach and Freeze is the complete opposite. The investigation is troubling, but the main problem with the investigation is that it's hurting our 2017 class. With no resolution, other schools can recruit against Ole Miss by saying "oh they're getting the death penalty or Freeze is going to get a show cause" or whatever. Apparently this investigation got personal between some on the Ole Miss staff and the NCAA investigators and that's why you are seeing this thing go on and on. These investigators want a pound of flesh but nothing they've uncovered in 3 years has really been all that damning and almost everything they have has been self reported by Ole Miss. So the actual penalties probably won't be all that harsh (12-15 scholarships over 3 or 4 years, no postseason ban), thus it seems like they are punishing Ole Miss in other ways, primarily by dragging this thing out to the extreme detriment of their 2017 recruiting efforts. Regardless of how the season turns out, Freeze's seat is ice cold. You'd have to see multiple losing seasons for his seat to heat up. He's got a very, very long leash from the administration and the fanbase.
  22. I can't get any feel at all on the FSU/Ole Miss game. Chad Kelly is really, really good and so I think Ole Miss will definitely score a decent amount of points. The X factor is that FSU is starting a freshman at QB. It's a pretty big stage for a guy to be taking his very first snaps. Francois is very highly touted, but so was Jeremy Johnson at the start of last year. On the contrary, look at what Buechele did yesterday for Texas during his first start. Under Freeze, the Rebels generally win or they get their teeth kicked in. They don't seem to play many close games. So look for a Rebel win or a Rebel humiliation.
