  1. Houston is urban hell. Austin, along with Nashville and Charleston, is one of the best cities in the South.
  2. This game rules
  3. This horsefeathers is bananas
  4. They slung it around with Buechele. They've been very conservative this half for whatever reason.
  5. Texas' QB is Steve Buechele's son
  6. He could seriously be one of the greatest defensive second basemen of all time if he stayed there for his career.
  7. Holy crap SEC
  8. There's a ton of similarities between Nebraska and Tennessee. Both share a great history and rabid fan bases, both were last at their peaks around the turn of the century, but both suffer from being located in a weak talent recruiting base while their primary rivals have become even more national powerhouses. I'll have to disagree with Tennessee being in weak recruiting ground. I mean, it's not Florida or Texas, but it isn't Mississippi or Arkansas. For example, last year the state of Tennessee produced 2 five stars and 10 four stars. Mississippi produced 0 five stars and just 4 four stars. Also, Tennessee doesn't have any other big football schools anywhere else in the state to compete with them, whereas Mississippi has two SEC schools and has LSU and Alabama lurking nearby picking off in-state talent. Thus why Ole Miss has to cheat to be competitive in the recruiting world. I think Tennessee's issues have been with coaching. Fulmer got fat(ter) and lazy, then Kiffin did nothing, and then Dooley did even less.
  9. Yeah, Tennessee fans are really, really bad about the whole "Vols are back, baby!" thing every single damn year. Even when Tennessee was successfully back in the late 90's, the rest of the league was an absolute wasteland other than Florida, whom they've only beaten 3 times in the last 23 years It's not a league keep getting that post count up, homie.
  10. On paper the Vols having a big season made sense. Kentucky, South Carolina, Mizzou, and Vandy are all utter garbage. Georgia has a first year head coach and a true freshman at QB. They do have to play at A&M though, and they host Bama, and host Florida. So their only real competition in the East is a Florida team that isn't all that special. Them winning the East seemed like an easy pick.

Even when Tennessee was successfully back in the late 90's, the rest of the league was an absolute wasteland other than Florida, whom they've only beaten 3 times in the last 23 years fwiw. Also, lol at SEC sportswriters voting Josh Dobbs as the All-SEC QB over Chad Kelly. Kelly had the 3rd most offensive yards in SEC history last year behind only Manziel's two seasons. Dobbs 2015: 2,291 yards, 15 TD, 671 yards rushing, 11 TD's, 115.27 passer rating Kelly 2015: 4,042 yards, 31 TD, 500 yards rushing, 10 TD's, 155.86 passer rating  Back to Tennessee, they are enormously lucky to have won that game. They fumbled twice at the end of the game and recovered both (one in the freaking endzone), App's coach went all Les Miles/Andy Reid with clock management at the end of the game, and most importantly App St's kicker left 4 points on the field. Had he nailed an XP earlier in the game, there would have been no OT.
  12. http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/choofed.gif are you laughing at me, or the idea that it's an amazing good Week 1? Have you even looked at the schedule? Definitely at you
  13. Tennessee would have lost if App State's kicker hadn't missed an XP. Then in OT Tenn's QB fumbled the ball into the endzone and luckily a Tenn player was able to get it in the scrum.
  14. Tennessee is losing to App State right now. Wow.

  17. If I was the owner or the GM of a baseball team and a scout came and said that he thinks Tebow could help us, I'm firing the entire scouting department because our organization must really, really suck top to bottom.

  19. May be a meathead pov, but I miss collisions at the plate.
  20. Umps are cowards. Didn't want to end the game on a review.
  21. via the internets... Mark Belanger of the Orioles had a 41 career WAR despite having a career line of .228/.300/.280. He has the second highest dWAR ever behind Ozzie Smith. Belanger was one of the few guys to ever be "reverse pinch hit" for. In September of '75, Earl Weaver decided that despite his fielding ability, giving Belanger a full game's worth of at-bats might be a bad idea. So for road games - when the Orioles batted in the top of the first - Weaver would start Royle Stillman at "shortstop" and have him bat leadoff or second. Then Belanger would replace Stillman, either as a pinch runner, or defensively in the bottom of the first.
  22. Your snark is a micro aggression. I'm reporting you.
