  1. It doesn't matter what your intentions are, the result is the same. Nobody ever said the Bears are good in rain. The cold and snow was an advantage against New Orleans mostly because the Saints never played in those conditions. The rain is bad for the Bears. And the rain was good for the Colts? Hell, they're a dome team.
  2. The Bears are not a wet track team, never have been. Cold and a little snow is helpful, but a wet track is not good for a speed team. True, but that just makes it neutral, because the Colts are just as much of a speed team. I'm not about to harp on the weather issue. But the wet track is definitely more of a problem for the defense, and with the Bears needing to rely so heavily on their defense, I'd say it affected the Bears more than the Colts. It's easier to make your cuts as an offensive player than a defender in those conditions, and with the primary matchup being Colts O vs Bears D, I think that's the difference. But again, I'm not scapegoating the loss on the weather. Indy played a better game and earned that win, weather or no weather. To me, that's much more valid of a weather complaint. Weather hurts defense more because they can't cut, etc.
  3. The Bears are not a wet track team, never have been. Cold and a little snow is helpful, but a wet track is not good for a speed team. Didn't seem to bother Hester or Jones on their long runs. I'm not in the mood for your BS the day after the super bowl. I'm not crying about weather. I'm also not about rubbing salt into the wounds, that's pretty pathetic and classless. I just offered an explanation for your question. The Bears d is built on speed, and the rain is bad for them. The fact that Jones and Hester had long runs in that rain is neither here nor there. Hey, you need to chill out. I wasn't trying to be classless at all. If you read that into my statements, then that's you. I seriously want to know about the Bears playing in the conditions. Because that's all I ever heard about was how great they were in the conditions. You gave an explanation and I offered a retort. The fact that Jones and Hester had long runs does matter.

  5. Why are so many Bears fans crying about the weather? All I heard two weeks ago when they were playing the Saints is how they love playing in the conditions. If the weather was going to affect anyone it would have been the Colts.
  6. So, you forfeit a draft pick? I don't know that much about NFL free agency other then a restricted player's original team has so long to match a deal. I didn't realize that you had to give up draft picks though?!?! I don't know either. As someone doing Sports Law, I should probably find out. Ha!

  8. Bears should try and get Matt Schaub somehow.
  9. Nooooooooooo!!! I wouldn't wish Aaron Brooks upon anyone. That dude turnsover worse than an insomniac. I put up with that dummy for years in New Orleans.
  10. Bears gonna pickup Troy Smith or Drew Stanton in the draft??
  11. Yup, best to judge a quarterback after his first full season of play. I put a question mark after Grossman's name.
  12. Grossman is going to join his place with all the other Florida QB's who couldn't hack it in the NFL: Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, Jesse Palmer, Doug Johnson, Shane Matthews, now Rex Grossman? Wonder what Chris Leak will do?
  13. Oh c'mon. As much as I'd like to believe that, seeing as how you tore up my Saints, that's just a bit much. Look at the .500 or above teams the Colts beat this year: Patriots twice, Ravens, Eagles, Jaguars, Bengals, Jets, Giants, Titans, Broncos, Chiefs, and the Bears. That's 11 teams. .500 or above teams the Bears beat: Green Bay, Seattle twice, Giants, Jets, Rams, and Saints. That's 6 teams.
  14. Grossman needs to move to Vegas and be an Aaron Brooks impersonator since he's obviously so good at running backwards and handing the other team the ball.
  15. I used to have lunch nearly everyday with Eli and a couple of my good friends who were on the football team all the time at the athletic facility at Ole Miss. Eli is a very quiet guy who is very humble. I've also met Peyton and the rest of the Manning family numerous times. Their family has a cabin down from mine at the Neshoba County fair (basically a 3 day drunk fest in rural Mississippi). http://www.smugmug.com/photos/54964455-S.jpg HAH! Outstanding! Peyton is pretty ugly too. Lots of rednecks there, but mostly rich rednecks. Those cabins are pricey.

  17. the saints want a do-over from last week, too  exactly
  18. Already been met by me. Saints NFC Championship Loss = 03 NL Championship.
  19. Really classy. Let's put a Diamondbacks logo on the falling World Trade Centers. If only the people who made that would have known just how scary that was for all of us down here. So many of my friends knew their houses and everything they ever owned and cherished was going to be destroyed as we watched that image of Katrina barreling down on the coast.
  20. The Bears will need to force turnovers, like in the Saints game, if they hope to outscore the Colts. If the weather is a bit wet, then that'll probably help with forcing turnovers and causing fumbles.
  21. Hell, we had two posters on this message board who said similar things, one of which said the EXACT same thing that poster said. That said, I certainly hope that posters like that weren't allowed into the stadium.
  22. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/6686/dabears23rn.jpg If you know this person, please kick their ass. If you are this person, have someone take all your belongings and destroy them, and have someone tear your house to the ground making you homeless, and then see how it feels.
  23. Fred Thomas should be shot. He's no NFL DB and it's stunning he is still in the league. I've watched the replay several times now and it makes me sicker each time I watch it. A mediocre college DB would have been able to knock that ball away. That play almost made me throwup.
  24. I seriously doubt that made a lick of difference. Do the Bears D have to get taunted to play hard and effective?
  25. Deuce averages 16 carries a game and Reggie 10. Last night Deuce carried 6 times and Reggie only 4. Following getting hit in the knee at 8:50 in the second quarter (thought it was first but it was second), Deuce only had 4 plays the rest of the game. Something had to be wrong with him.
