  1. Yes, he's a tough kid, but I've been watching him since he was a Freshman All-American here at Ole Miss, and that wasn't 100% Deuce at there, or even 75% Deuce. He was definitely hurt. Not saying that's why they relied on the pass so much, but something was definitely wrong with him, and it really hurt us because he couldn't stop the pass-rush like normal. His efforts to block your DE's were just pitiful.
  2. Speaking of the devil, they just said on our local sports station that Deuce took a helmet to his surgically repaired knee on a screen play.
  3. Especially if the teams in their divisions continue to stink. Much easier to say that given your division. In the NFC South, The Panthers, despite not making the playoffs are a pretty scary team. Although, Green Bay did show that they could play pretty well at times this year.
  4. The Saints have nothing to be disappointed about. They will be a team to take seriously next year. Not that they shouldn't have been taken seriously this year. They were the team I was most afraid of in the NFC this year. Brees is an awesome QB. If Brees had time he could have done a lot of damage. I'm not sure why the Saints abandoned the running game just to ease the pressure but Peyton knows his team and I'm sure he had a reason. The reason I think was that Deuce got hurt in that first quarter. He came up limp after being hit low on a pass. He got up limping around and grimacing. After that play, he only had 3 rushes the entire rest of the game. I feel like they mainly kept him in there as a decoy and had to run the obligatory rush with him every so often to try and show that he was still a factor. It kind of sucked keeping him in there though because most of the times that Brees got hurried or sacked it was because the DE got past Deuce, who is normally an outstanding pass-rush blocker.
  5. That's what amazed me as well, I knew Bush was gone but, the speed Urlacher showed was incredible. Who wins a foot race between Bush and Hester? That surprised everyone at the Saints party I was at as well. After we got done jumping up and down and watched the replay, none of us could believe that Urlacher was outrunning the DB's. He's a complete freak of nature that guy. Definitely not somebody you want to taunt.
  6. Update? Come on, this is toeing the line of arrogance, isn't it? Give me a break, guy. Just having some fun here. That is if OMC doesn't mind you busting his chops. I think he's been pretty good about all this. I'm not trying to kick the man when he's down but he went out on a limb with that statement and it kind of stuck with me. No hard feelings though. Saints fans should be thrilled, obviously. Their team is in the up and ups big time. It's called smack talk. I'm never going to say my team sucks before a big game. That said, I feel that one or two good natured pokes are ok after the game. What you said was fine. I'm eating crow today for sure. It's when people openly mock someone after a game that bothers me.
  7. Colston ranks as one of the greatest scouting failures since Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. Colston is basically a T.O. or a Burress without the attitude. He's gonna be a big big big-time NFL wide receiver. Especially if he sticks with Brees.
  8. If he's not expected to go until near the end of the draft, why would the Saints waste a first round pick on him? :D Durrr....end of 1st round. Brain fart. Nice sig by the way :-)
  9. I like Willis a lot. He's my nextdoor neighbor...another reason I'm really big into him!! :D :D He's a humble, humble guy as well.
  10. So it looks like the Saints have the #25 pick in the 1st round. I'm hoping they get Patrick Willis, the highest rated ILB in the draft. He is expected to go near the end of the draft. Saints like to draft local people as well, and Willis played at Ole Miss. Saints desperately need some Defense and some RUSH defense in particular. Here's some great clips of him...check out the first in particular, it's one of the best hits I've ever seen. Saw it live and it was incredible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bM4sEmaFLQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVaa8NWqync
  11. I actually am starting to think that Deuce got hurt in the 1st quarter. He only had 3 rushes after the 1st quarter. Did any of y'all remember seeing him catching a short pass and getting hit low near the end of the 1st quarter? He came off limping with a grimace on his face.
  12. A heavy dose of Jones and Benson should do it against the Colts, so long as the Bears D does what they did against the Saints and Brees. Brees isn't used to getting hit or hurried that much and neither is Peyton. I think getting hurried that much messed with Brees a little bit, and it can work against Peyton. However, Addai has only fumbled twice this year.
  13. huh, last I checked the Bears had Urlacher and Briggs He was talking about the Colts dipstick. by both sides I thought he meant both defensive units? Dipstick? Still sour over the beating today i see. LOL. Grow up. You need a serious beating with a humble stick. Smack talk is fine for pre-game, but once the game is done, simple sportsmanship suggests that someone should be gracious in defeat and humble in victory.
  14. What? More sarcasm? Now I've made you touchy. I'm seriously sorry for jumping on you dude. No, it's my bad now. I was a bit touchy. You should go back a few pages and read my initial thoughts on the game. Let's be friends.
  15. huh, last I checked the Bears had Urlacher and Briggs He was talking about the Colts dipstick.
  16. I think the key to this game is the same key that the Bears had against the Saints: Force turnovers and keep the Colts offense off the field.
  17. Wow, I come into the thread to offer my congratulations and to say that I'm proud the Bears beat us and not some other team and how I'm going to be pulling for the Bears now. I was talking smack about the Bears just like y'all were talking smack about the Saints. That's the way things go in pre-game discussions. That's sports. But after the game is done, that smack talk should cease. From my days of playing collegiate athletics, I learned to take losing in stride and always look at the bright side and to congratulate the victors and be empathetic toward the losers.
  18. Well, Bears played a good game and they deserved the victory. The Saints offense played pretty well though, in spite of the turnovers. Saints only had 3 less 1st downs than the Bears despite the fact that the Bears had the ball over 10:30 minutes longer than the Saints. The Saints are an offensive team, you keep us off the field and you'll win.
  19. Give it a rest man Nope. I kept my mouth shut during the week. I just sat back and listed to how the Saints were going to come into Chicago and light up the BEars, and I just kept it quiet. To think the Aints could actually come into Chicago and get a victory, whatta joke. If the Saints hadn't shot themselves in the foot and fumbled so many times, they might would have beaten you in Chicago. So why don't you be a humble victor and be thankful that you are going to witness your team in the Super Bowl. There are 30 teams with all their millions of fans who won't get that opportunity. Wow man. SORE LOSER. Not cool. Are you serious?
  20. Yes. Shot themselves in the foot. You said so yourself, they force teams into mistakes. A mistake is something that is your fault. Regardless of how well the Bears do at stripping, the person holding the ball has the duty to hold onto the ball. When they fail to do so, it is their fault.

  22. So what? All they care about is a story. The Bears barely winning to crappy teams gives them the story of "What's up with the Bears?". Just like the stories about the Saints and Katrina. It's just stuff they write about and it should be meaningless to most fans.
  23. Beaver! Gotskowski was my pitcher on my 5-A state championship High School baseball team.
