    In my mind, it's about correcting a romanticized and falsified picture of the past. The glorification of the Confederacy makes me sick to my stomach. How is Colonel Reb a romanticized picture of the past? He's an old aristocratic white guy with a goatee and cane in a nice suit, like a Colonel Sanders type. Hell, the model for Colonel Reb was actually based on a BLACK guy who worked at the school back in the '30's. Second, how is an old white guy with a goatee and cane a falsified picture of the past?

    Did they really? Seems a bit extreme if you ask me. That song is a part of the south. The flag is one thing, but the changing the song is going a bit overboard if you ask me. What's next, making them dump the Rebel as a mascot? Well, they've already taken Colonel Reb away as the official mascot, which caused a HUGE uproar, even among most of the black students who his banishment was supposed to help.     That was 1962. Check out a pic from an Ole Miss home game in the late 80's. http://www.gallerysouth.com/gallerysouth/Flags.jpg I'm not one of those types that likes to get rid of all things Confederate, but I'm glad they banned those flags at Ole Miss games. I'm NOT glad they changed the fight song from "Dixie", and now only allow the band to play it twice a game. The flags I get, but not "Dixie", that's a bit overkill.

    Thats crazy. Thats like saying quarterback is even because Brees and Grossman are both capable of making big plays. There is a huge difference in the numbers between the two guys. I wouldn't go so far as to call it crazy. I would. The Bears have the best special teams in the NFL. They also have a returner who broke the NFL record for KR/PR TD's in a season. To try to claim that the teams are equal here, is basically ignoring the facts. Hey, Bush might return one Sunday and Hester might not, but going into the game the Bears have a pretty wide advantage in this area of the game. I'm not suggesting they are equal, they aren't. The Bears special teams is DEFINITELY better than the Saints. What I was taking issue with was that it's "crazy" to compare Hester and Bush as playmakers. It's not crazy. They are both highly capable of the big play, much more than the average return man.

One thing to consider is that Devin has had twice as many punt returns this season as Bush, and that Bush is getting better with every game that goes by with all aspects of his game, receiving, rushing, and returning.

    Well, I just checked and last year the Steelers had two SI covers in Jan '06. Patriots had two pre-superbowl SI covers in Jan & Feb '05. So I guess it's not that big of a jinx.

    It's ok. She wasn't hot, she looked trashy, and not just the shirt. The girls in your sig are hot. The girl in the "F the Eagles" shirt is the lead singer for a rock band at different bars in New Orleans. I've seen her a couple of times. She's more "punk" than trashy.

    Why'd you give place kicking to Gould? Carney has only missed 2 field goals all year and has a higher percentage this year than Gould. Don't get me wrong, I'm a great admirer of what Gould has done this year, but just want to know your rationale on that one. The dome makes a big difference. Excellent point that I had forgotten. Yes, you were correct in giving it to Gould.

    Didn't know that. You're right. Hester has 20 returns this season and Lewis has 37.

    Bush regularly does punt returns, but not kickoffs. Michael Lewis returns the kickoff's. He's pretty good, he averages 24.7yds a kickoff, and has 4 returns of 40+ yards. To compare, Hester averages 26.4yds and has 2 returns of 40+ yards. I responded to this earlier:

    This is all I was trying to say and for whatever reason you decided to argue. Can't we all just get along? :) You insulted our D as weak, which it is not. So I had to fight you over that.

    Look, anyone who thinks that one side is going to destroy the other is foolish. It's going to be a tight game in my prediction and while I'd like the Saints to win, I honestly can't make an accurate prediction as to who will win. They are the 1 and 2 teams in the NFC for a reason.

    How do you figure? Our offense is ranked higher than your defense, and our defense is ranked higher than your offense. Besides, the Bears were DEAD LAST in strength of schedule this year. The Saints were 3rd highest. You beat a team in the Seahawks who were ranked 19th in the NFL and had lost 3 of their last 5 games, and only beat the Cowboys because Romo messed up. Whereas the Saints beat the Eagles, the 9th ranked team in the NFL, who had won their last 6 games. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff.php Ok, well that also shows that we beat the no.3 team in the NFL, and y'all beat the no.25 team.
