  1. True. It's not quite as bad as a Duke game, but I get your point.
  2. Agree with this. UNC is a second half team.
  3. Nevermind, punk scorekeepers are calling it an error. :-(
  4. who is he? http://www.baseball-reference.com/t/tolbema01.shtml
  5. BOOOO!!! In other news, my cousin is 4-8 with 2 walks since starting out in the bigs this year, woot!
  6. Should be. The blackout restrictions are idiotic though. In the last two years, Cincy games have been blacked out for me despite being 600 miles away.
  7. I think CT would have made a better effort than that.

  14. The '84 team should have been to the series. They might have gotten steamrolled by the Tigers, but they were the best team in the NL (by my 9-year-old recollection.) tell us more about the olden days, grampa I hate everything about you. was history class easier back then No such thing. We did have a "Peering Into the Future" core requirement. I don't guess there was a sports section in that class. If I had known I was in for two and a half decades of futility, I don't think I'd still be following the Cobs.
  15. pardon? Nevermind.... way to put up your worst game of the year, punks.
  16. Aside from the minor leagues thing, that all seems pretty obvious. My favorite Bill James moment comes from his Baseball Abstract book where he ranks the top 100 players at every position historically and writes several paragraphs about each of them. His entry for Cecil Fielder simply reads:
