  1. Probably library of congress? I know he's gotten old pics from there before. Found most of them there.
  2. I wonder at what point do they start the "Jim Leyland heart attack countdown".

  4. Just an FYI, the 1988 Orioles have the worst recorded start to a season when they went 0-21.
  5. This was what Costas (future commissioner of MLB :beg:) was advocating in Fair Ball.
  6. Gonna go with the local boys. GO TIGERS!!
  7. That's a good point. I'd be fine with it during exhibitions, etc.
  8. CINCINNATI Reds games are blacked out for me in MISSISSIPPI. Enough said.
  9. Apparently Ted Lilly's great-grandfather was actually IN the famous photo of the Rough Riders on San Juan Hill. The Pittsburgh FSN broadcasters were talking about it and showed the picture and circled him. Pretty dang neat.
  10. So much of playing baseball is that you have to play BOTH offense and defense. It'd be like in basketball if there was a rule where the centers could just park in the paint the whole game.
  11. He is just CRUSHING everything. That ball was crying for its mother. Holy shiznet.
  12. The DH was just a gimmick from the 70's like colored baseballs or shorts as uniform pants that happened to catch on. Should be done away with.
  13. For some reason my first thought when I clicked on this thread was that it was about Jerome WALTON, not Williams.
  14. Same here...except it's at 2 AM my time.
  15. "Robbed" is a bit much. Beasley is clearly the better player, but I think the thing that most set TH over Beasley is that he's a junior whereas MB is a freshman. Now you want to talk about "robbed" see NL MVP 2007. Giving someone an award because they are a junior as opposed to a freshman is an absolutely hideous impersonation of a joke. Beasley is a better player than Hansbrough and put up better numbers on a crappier team, and his reward for carrying a team that would've won 12 games without him to the NCAA tournament is to get passed up by a dude who tonight was the ringleader of his team's biggest weakness - interior defense. How many alley-oops did Kansas throw down tonight, and where was the national player of the year to do anything about them? I didn't say it was right for them to do it, but that I suspect that's one of the main reasons why TH got it. I may be completely and utterly wrong.
