I hardly think Ole Miss would beat Mizzou solidly as Meph says. I think at this point it'd be a toss-up and it'd be a terrific game. At the start of the season I'd definitely bet on Mizzou, but the way Ole Miss finished out the season, routing LSU in Baton Rouge and completely embarrassing Mississippi State (not that hard to do this year, but having more points than the other team has total yards is a complete bitch slap), I'd imagine a head to head match up right now would be extremely close and I'd have a hard time picking who would win that game.

Shane Matthews, lol. Another in the looong line of good Florida QB's who sucked in the pros...Wuerffel, Doug Johnson, Jesse Palmer. I suppose Grossman has been the best in the pros, and that isn't saying much of course.

I wish the Rebs would get to play Texas in the Cotton Bowl, but it looks like the Cotton Bowl will be Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech. That'll be a high scoring affair I'd think and more winnable from my point of view than if we had to play Texas.

I thought Oher went to a school in Memphis. You are right, I had a massive brain fart. I got him mixed up with Ole Miss' Peria Jerry (also expected to go in the 1st RD this year). Oher went to Briarcrest in Memphis, IIRC. South Panola is in a suburb of Memphis though.

Wow, this isn't college, but South Panola High School, a 5A (largest division) school in MS, just had the nation's longest high school winning streak snapped in the State Championship game. They had won 89 consecutive games before tonight. If anyone read The Blind Side, Michael Oher comes from that school.

I saw that earlier as well. What else is he going to say though at this point if they are waiting to announce it? All I know is that State would be extremely lucky to land someone like Petersen. It's hard to imagine MSU as being anything other than a joke in the conference. It's been about 10 years since they were consistently decent. Jackie Sherill was the coach back then.

Yeah, I missed it. Must have really been trying to avoid reading the Tebow fiction. If that statement about him being offered 4/9 is true, I believe that would double his current pay. So perhaps money talks. MSU is just a bad program as it stands right now. They've only had 2 winning seasons this decade and their winning 2007 season was just really flukeish. I've heard 4/12 Well if that's the case, then that would triple his current pay. That's quite the pay raise.
