crunching the number a little more and murphy eclipses him in just about every offensive category. then again, he did have 2,800 more at-bats than maris. aside: murphy had some wacky l/r splits during his mvp campaigns. Yeah, I certainly wasn't referring to their total careers, just their slash lines and 162 game average. And wow, those L/R splits are crazy.
