besides aunties $50,000 SUV the main thing I always remembered about Tractor Traylor was the round hairless spot he had on his head during the Big Ten tourney...like he had ringworm or something.

fair enough, though I hope I was not one of those Wings fans. I am actually pretty content with just making it to 7 games. For 2 yrs I had been frustrated because the Sharks were not better then the Wings, but somehow had won 7 of 8 playoff games. Now that the Wings have shown they are as good I am okay if they fall at this point. Honestly, the best thing about Detroit winning game 7 would be that the Sharks Diving Team would lose.

I think it is probably because the Wings and Hawks have not met enough in the playoffs. The series in the early 90s(95 maybe) was a sweep that Belfour made closer then it really was, and 2 years ago the Hawks were not quite there yet so it was also somewhat of a mismatch. I think real dislike for other teams is formed in tight playoff series. I somewhat liked San Jose until about a week ago. I don't think the average Hawks fan would care 2 cents about the Canucks if they hadn't played 3 straight years.

They just may pull it off, betcha a penny the Hawks finish ahead of them next season. I dont like Detroits chances of being better then the Hawks next year, but to be fair I will go ahead and bet that penny.

so winning the Cup 4 times was better March 26, 1997 game against Colorado was better but I cannot think of any other games in my life as a Red Wing fan more satisfying then the game tonight. Screw San Jose and their diving team.

Wings stole a game tonight. glad to see it though I think it just extends the inevitable. The Sharks have stolen at least 3 games vs the Wings the last 2 years, so I am glad to see it go the other way once.

If there is a sucker out there willing to take his salary the Hawks should trade him in a second. Since that will not happen you can feel safe in your intelligent choice

I am happy that Barney has played well...I fear though that he will be given way to much rope when things start going badly, now that he has started so well. -
I dont want to get into a pissing match with you, but Detroit had some massive injury issues themselves. I find meatball Red Wings fans about as annoying as I find meatball Hawks fans. I was glad the Hawks made the playoffs, because I didn't want the dumb Wings fans to be right. On a different subject, in the last 2 years the Wings and Sharks have played 7 one goal games in the playoffs including 4 OT games, and the Sharks have won them all. Even if you could say the Sharks were better in all 7 games, you would think just by pure chance the Wings would have lucked one or two out. For a team that chokes and gets unlucky in the playoffs, they sure seem to be lucky and clutch against the Wings.

I understand liking Rinne but the Preds are the most boring team in the Western conference. Or is this a case of "whoever is playing the Canucks?" The Preds also could be a legitimate Stanley Cup contender if they would just spend up to the Cap. Maybe now that they have finally won a playoff series they will be willing to up the payroll to be more competitive. But I have a hard time rooting for teams that will not invest to win.

Unlike Theriot, he's also good at the big things like scoring goals. they were talking more specifically about his play in the Blackhawks series, tho. Not the entire season. I think the "little things" actually matter in hockey. Kessler has value even when he is not scoring.

Slimeball? Incompentent maybe, but it doesn't seem like he was trying to work anyone over. The problem is, how do we know that. I think it is quite possible that the Bears got wind of who KC was going to take and tanked the deal. Who besides Angelo can refute that. But either way incompetent or a slime ball, doesn't bode well for Angelo trading in the future during the draft.

the part of the rule that really bothers me is the intent to blow the whistle part. In the last couple of years I have seen several goals taken away that actually went in before the whistle blew, but since the ref intended to blow the whistle it was disallowed. I understand not allowing anything after the whistle, but it is ridiculous to take a goal away that was scored after the whistle was blown.

I think if you could get salary cap relief to resign Sharp. Plus a solid top 6 forward and a 3/4 line checking center, then trading Kane might make sense. Of course there may be room in the new cap to resign Sharp(if he gives a Blackhawk discount) and add a checking center and just keep Kane

If Kovalchuk got 6.6 I am sure that Kane would have gotten at least that, so you are probably right.

He's a point a game player, one of the top 5 passers in the league, who hasn't even entered his prime yet. People who are saying that just started watching the Hawks last year. Not saying that as a slam against them because I want the NHL to have as many fans as possible, but his skill-set is extraordinary and under no circumstances do you shop him. I think the things he does well are extraordinary and not everyone can do...the things he does not do well he could probably improve upon. I think one of the understated cap issues the Hawks have is that Kane makes the same as Toews. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who knows anything about hockey who would say that Kane gives the same amount of value as Toews. This may be one of the reasons that is prompting some fans to want to trade Kane.

I am cheering for the Bolts in the East. Of course my all time favorite player is there GM:) So the top 3 seeds and the 5th seed advance in both conferences. Probably been awhile since the top 3 in both conferences advanced in the same year. I think it happened in the Western Conference last year though.

I think the cap is projecting to go up 4-5 million next year with the new tv deal...at least that is what I have heard. I think the Hawks really need to get a 3/4 line center who can kill penalties and win face-offs. I think the Hawks losing last night will end up being a blessing in disguise. I dont think they really had the depth to win the cup and were only really playing 3 lines. So losing in the first round will probably help them to be more rested and fresh for next season. I also think they will come back more hungry.

If the Hawks win the Wings will have a series against a non west coast team in the next round...which would be cool. However, the team that is remaining that I would most like to play is LA, but it is impossible for the Wings to play them. I think the best thing for me is for the Hawks and Sharks to win, then the Hawks beating the Sharks in round 2...with the Wings winning of course. As for knocking out the Presidents Cup winner, I don't really care that much. The Presidents Cup winner is usually the best team in the worst division.

Hawks fans after game 3? Edit...I think this is pretty much how most hockey fans are when their team in losing. Wings fans (me included) were very much like this during the San Jose series last year

So I am not going to lie...It makes me extremely happy that the Hawks have turned this series around and making it much more then just a cake walk for the Canucks. I still do not have a great rooting interest, but kind of hope the Hawks/Sharks and Preds win. Just so all of the Wings second round games would be played at easy hrs to watch.

the goals were so similar. Questionable penalties, clean face-off wins right after the calls, long shots from dmen Hawks should be up by more then 1 and are now losing....wow
